Just a thought,

They should allow pregnant women a handicap sign. At least like three-four months from due date. I feel it would be fair, no?

I've had this thought also. I work in an office park where I have to park three parking lots away because the lots are so full. But there are always those 2 handicapped spots right up front that stay empty. I really don't mind when I'm walking in, but at the end of the day when my feet are swollen out of my shoes and I'm feeling nauseous.... Yeah that stinks. Haha

I often think this after walking around walmart for an hour grocery shopping, i feel like if i take one more step i might die lol. But, i just try to park as close to the door as possible because i know by the time im done in the store i won't feel like walking halfway across the huge parking lot.

B,  your thought wasn't really a silly thought,  at all.  There are women who are pregnant who struggle to walk and are on partial bedrest,  and they struggle with walking all the way in to the store.

Your thought wasn't silly at all,  and was a good conversation starter.

Eh, I understand totally. It was just a silly thought, something for all of us to laugh at really, not something meant to be taken personally. Just a silly thought I figured I would share and something we could all enjoy to a point. It's not like it's just going to be handed out or something anyways.

Just for a laugh. Nothing personal.

We aren't handicap... We are pregnant.  Totally disagree with this post and think the extra parking lot walking is good for us

Since I have been having such issues walking lately that sounds like a GREAT idea!!  I'm actually considering using one of those motor carts the next time I go grocery shopping!!  Lol
But normally I don't mind walking!!!!
(And probably wont use a motor cart, I'd probably get kicked out of the store!! Lol)

B,  I really like you and read your posts and enjoy them.

But I have to disagree with you here.  Healthy pregnant women should walk from the parking lot to the store.  If they're on bedrest,  or have health issues,  that's one thing.

As you age,  you will be less and less able to walk through a large parking lot.  If you have 3 small children,  it's hard,  and when you're older it's hard.

Pregnant and healthy with no babies - you're likely one of the ones who can make it into the store most easily.  Which is such a blessing.  ;D

Well of course there is a huge difference. Lazy in some cases yeah, you'd definitely have those who use it to their advantage and ruin it for others. But when it is convenient why not?

Okay, then let me reword it - they should have parking for expectant mothers, just as they do for handicap people.

That's really awesome to have parking for mothers with children.

No lol I think that just lazy(?) Walking is good, I struggle but I'd never consider myself handicapped, major difference from handicapped to pregnant. That's my opinion :)

Handicap parking is everywhere lol.

I understand that, just thought it was clever. Plus, when I have horrible Braxton hicks or really need to pee, or my feet and ankles are swollen, the last thing I'm wanting to do is walk a mile to the door.

Would be kind of considerate in a way.

If you're handicapped,  you can get a temporary handicap hanger for your rear view mirror.

Otherwise,  walking is really good for pregnant women.  It's good for everyone who can walk,  actually.

At Walmart here they do have parking for mothers with babies because that's kind of hard to manage sometimes.

some insurances give you an expecting mother sign but not all places have spots for them
