Maternity clothes.....

Hey Ladies. 18 weeks. Ftm. I'm going shopping this week and am looking for suggestions. What are a few essential items that got you through your pregnancy? Any shoes that you found comfortable, clothes, pregnancy accessories, and so on?

I don't want to wear leggings and stretchy clothes throughout my entire pregnancy. My partner and I go out a lot, dinner, movies, dancing.. I want to be able to get dressed and feel confident. Pants, dresses, skirts, nice tops...

I hated the idea of leggings and stretch pants in the beginning of my pregnancy and I bought maternity jeans I wore the jeans comfortably until a couple weeks ago. I can still wear them but I prefer the comfort of leggings and long tops now. I think it's just the shape of my belly that makes the jeans harder to wear as I'm carrying super low.

Buying clothes bigger and using belly bands will make it so u can wear just about anything u want cuz even when I can't button ur pants the belly band will hide that and keep ur pants up

I've only purchased shirts. My jeans just started getting snug. Less than 4 weeks to go, so I will just use  rubber band or something to keep them comfortable.

You can probably find maxi skirts at target, marshals, TJ maxx.  Motherhood maternity carries dress pants in different lengths that you could try on--but no pants fit me.  It really depends on your body shape I think.  My hips/legs are pretty narrow.

I really want some pants and tops. I feel like I'll be able to find tons of shirts, just don't know about bottoms.

Maternity clothing doesn't usually fit me well so I went to plus sizes to find cute clothing.  You can easily customize xl or 2xl with elastic to get ruching effect if you like or just add a skinny belt above your bump.  I have found lots of non maternity tops lately that fit me better. In 2 pregnancies I've found one pair of maternity jeans that fit and they were from goodwill.

When we go out I wear a lot of dresses and tights. Be careful buying shoes--I'd wear my current shoes for now because your feet might go up 1/2 to a full size.  It happened to several friensd of mine. I bought a winter coat at the thrift store and it's my favorite purchase. Skinny belts are great from Charming Charlie but you can also buy them for 1.99 from goodwill and they're brand new--old target close out inventory. I love Chico's for tops & accessories.

I got some belly bands at Target also. Don't get them off of Amazon, they're a joke!

I bought a pair of slippers before I got pregnant and then since it's so hard to put socks and shoes on I've kinda been wearing them everywhere! But slip on shoes is a must!

I bought one good pair of jeans from Target, they were pricey. But the rest of the stuff that I got, I went to Goodwill. No one wears them long enough for them to be really worn down. They're cheaper, a lot cheaper, and I had fairly good luck finding stuff. Some Goodwills have a maternity section, and some are mixed in with normal clothing. Just a thought (:
