I worked until I was in labor, literally...I had to leave work to go have the baby. He was early though. It depends on the type of job, if you're on your feet or sitting mostly. I would recommend working as long as physically possible, so you don't waste unpaid time off without your baby. Maybe tell your job that your due date will be your last day...if you haven't gone into labor yet. You'd be getting induced soon after that anyway if you haven't.

Depends on what state you are in and what the state or job offer. I live in California. The state helps pay for 4 weeks before you deliver then 6 weeks after. Then you can take another 6-8 (depends if you had a c-section) weeks for FMLA. I tried lasting to 36 weeks but I am at a high stress level job and on my feet all day. I was having sciatic nerve issues and my body gave out on me at 33 weeks. I couldn't walk. I honestly should have left at 7 mo but I guess I'm stubborn. Before 36 weeks you need a Dr. To sign off on your disability.

Went into preterm labor at 26 weeks, after they did an amnioreduction (because too much fluid is what caused the labor), I was back at work at 27 weeks after spending 4 days in the hospital.  I plan to work until baby boy is due. I do have short term disability so I will get paid a portion of what I make now but now all of what I make.  So I'm definitely working as long as possible and going back as fast as possible.  *****, but such is life.

I'm gonna be 36 weeks, and still working full time. We don't get paid either, and I'll be working till I go I to labor. I'm also only taking off 2 weeks. It *****, but that's life I guess. It really depends on the person and how they're feeling when they're working. You're baby's health is most important, so as long as you and baby are doing ok, I'd say work until you can't anymore. Good luck to you
