Partner Sleeping Habits

My fiance and I sleep in the same bed next to each other every night. However about 2 weeks ago he started having violent dreams and has been elbowing my belly, punching my arm, smacking my head, and scaring me half to death. It constantly wakes me up and I work full time so I'm extremely tired. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any advice on how to handle it. I'm ready to start hitting back or sleeping on the couch just because it has gotten so bad and he doesn't have a clue what he is dreaming about when he wakes up.

Men!! What are we gonna do with them haha, my husband would knee me and sometimes has even smacked my stomach by accident in his sleep but I just punch him back and that wakes him up right away and now he's been really careful that he won't hurt me, he even asks every morning if he didn't hit me in the middle of the night

Thanks everyone. Last night he elbowed me so I threw his arm he got mad at me and rolled away. It didn't happen again. I just keep pushing him and yelling at him but I did tell him that if it doesn't change one of us will sleep on the couch. Good luck to all you ladies too. I hope it all gets better for you all ad well.

My boyfriend starting punching and kicking in his dreams. Not all the time but I just sleep with my back towards him and if he starts twitching or anything I wake him up and make him turn away from me. It's started to stop lately though!

I had hit my husband back or push him away from me with my feet. He's gotten much better about hitting/kneeing since I started doing it back

Yea my husband sleep talk and gets mad in his dreams. He accidentally hit my stomach one night, not too hard but it did startle me. He was very concerned and sorry. He can't help his actions due to sleep so I dont blame him. But now either one of us will face opposite from eachother. Not comfortable for us as we love to cuddle. But will have to do for awhile longer. As I do not want to chance another mistaken hit!
