I love my midwives. My experience with them has been far better than with OBs.
As long as you are healthy, baby is healthy and you have a supportive midwife staff, I don't see an issue with it. Good midwives have equipment to monitor baby while in labor to make sure the heart rate is in a good range.
You may also look to see if there is a birth center near you.

Because of my first pregnancy they had to do emergency c section I would never want at home birth or trust midwife because if not for c section my baby could have died. Not to scare moms but just based on my personal experience.

My SIL had a midwife with her, after several hrs on labor thinking baby was ok I dont think they can monitor everything unlike at hospital., anyway it was too late for them when midwife said they need to go to hospital. By the time they arrived at hospital, they did c section on her and baby still died it was too late.

Because of my SIL's experience and my emergency c aection last time I refuse to experiment and try home birth. It is better safe than sorry. My brother and SIL end up ending marriage they both cant move on from the.lose.. :(

I was born at home and actually it's very safe as long as a midwife is present :) as long as there's no complications with your baby and your not high risk :)

I have a high risk pregnacy,  and am also a first time mom. So I would never consider it. But for a mom who's had no complications with previous pregnacy and is experienced and know what to expect,  with a midwife present it would be a unique experience.  But not for me I want a dr. and nurses, and hospital accommodation available for me:)
