You are brave for admitting this and braver for wanting to protect your baby. No judgement here. So...try patches. It's the thousands of other chemicals in cigarette smoke and the carbon monoxide from the smoke that harms the baby. Wear for 24 hours to start (like maybe 3-5 days) then try not to wear them at night, then progressively wean yourself to the lowest dose. You will be able to do it. I smoked heavily until my 1st, this is how I got through. I felt so much better after quitting both physically and mentally. You just don't realize how much cigarettes can control your life. Good luck mama.

I am pregnant with my 2nd child and I smoke. I cut down with my first. I was down to 6 cigs a day. I gave birth to my son at 41 weeks. He was 22.5 inches and 9 lbs 9 Oz. As long as you don't smoke a pack a day. LOL I suggest cut back like I did.

NO NO NO . ALL NEW MOTHERS DON'T LISTEN TO OTHERS PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY I SMOKED OR THEY FAMILY SMOKED THRU WHOLE PREGNANCY OR HALF AND THERE BABIES ARE HEALTHY! ! WELL THEY GOT LUCKY!  JUST BECAUSE THEY DID DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL . IT IS COMMON SENSE SMOKING WHILE PREGNANT IS RIDICULOUS AND WILL HARM YOUR CHILD ! IF YOU NEED HELP QUITING DON'T ASK STRANGERS ASK YOUR DOCTOR OB! That's the person you should trust God bless everyone and if you are smoking while pregnant god bless that baby of yours cause that is awful and not fair for your baby . Again talk to your OB! FIRST

Im not sure how to answer that i guess its all state of mind, i smoked for 10 years and when i found out i was preggo with my first tha5 day i threw out all my ciggerettes and didnt turn back through the entire pregnancy and breast feeding once i stopped breast freding unfortunitly ii picked up.smoking again and 18 months later found out i was preggo again an boom just like that quit i know its tough its a daily struggle for me but i just keep reminded my self that being preggo and smoking is no longer just harming myself but an innocent babyvwith no choice that relys on me to care for it.

I was in the process of ttc so I quit with nicorette gum... You also need the will power.. I smoked for over 10 years, a pack a day at least... And once I found I was pregnant a week after quitting, I stopped the nicorette and now I chew just regular gum... After your first 3-7 days it gets so much easier.. Make sure everyone around you is supportive and try not to stress out. That's probably the best advice I have for you

I would suggest cutting back. Many people smoke and judgment doesn't help as mommas we all know the risk and feel guilty enough. quitting suddenly can be just as dangerous so it's best to go slow. Don't stress

Don't worry about what other people say, just do your best. Everyone in my family smoked while pregnant, my husband's family too. I am on #5 and I could never quit. I'd cut down a little but not much. My kiddos are all the picture of health. I never had any issues. If you put to much pressure on your self you'll give up. And anyone who tries to make you feel guilty doesn't understand people can't be guilted into change. It'll just make you stress and want another cigg

I would suggest just stopping, my sister in law smoked her whole pregnancy, and my nephew's kidneys didn't fully develope because of it, and when he got home he had to stay under a UV light for 6 weeks, you don't want to miss out on your baby's first weeks, or have the guilt of knowing something didn't grow right because smoking was more important.

I just quit the moment I found out I was pregnant I was smoking for 20 years and quit immediately I realised that I'm harming a baby that can't protect itself and I'm the one who should protect him and not damage him.
