Vaginal Ultrasound

I'm getting one but I'm hoping it won't hurt this is my first pregnancy. Any suggestions or wondering if it could harm me or the baby, I'm hoping to figure this out cause my boyfriend thinks it's just a waste of money

We paid extra to see our baby for every appointment. It is so nice to see my baby everytime. It is not hurting at all.

Honestly I have had 4 done and 2 hurt because they were done by the same woman. I think she was just unnecessarily rough! The other 2 felt mildly uncomfortable but that's about it. Like others said it is the only way they can see baby in early pregnancy. If it does hurt speak up! :)

It dsnt hurt at all.. its best in the early weeks to check the bby. My doc does it every monthly checkup to check my cervixfor health reasons. They alwas use a condom & lube. It wnt harm the bby too so dont worry :) & yes ignore harsh & judgemental comments, its just hormones!!  u dnt need to explain ureself. This forum is for clearing all doubts & tension.

I'm not saying it is, my boyfriend think it might be we just don't want to do anything that's going to make us loose money where I live hospital scams are common and were teens, so we can hardly offered the baby either way, but were very happy and want the baby, I feel your comment was unnessary and you should probably ask why he thought that or think of things that have happened to either you or a friend who's had a hospital scam them for more money.

Its more uncomfortable but its worth it to see the baby on the screen. When I first got mine done I was 9 weeks and she looked like a mini gumball but its very exciting (: good luck!

It doesn't hurt at all. I had a trainee do mine and no joke it took and half and hour. After about 15 min it got uncomfortable with the wedge pillow I had to sit on. So I wouldn't recommend letting and trainee do it but it didn't hurt

Doesnt hurt at all! And oh really? U think its a waiste of money to see if your baby is healthy or not?! Maybe u shouldnt be having a baby then js

I have had a lot of vaginal ultrasounds, because of the drs measuring my cervix for health reasons especially with this pregnancy. It doesn't hurt, and they put a condom and lube on it before they insert it. I had to get one every week up to 25wks.

You don't have a option in early pregnancy thats the only way they can see. If sex doesnt hurt why would an ultrasound? It might be kinda awkward but that's about it. No its not harmful to your baby. They do ultrasounds for several reasons, why would he consider it a waste of money? Thats pretty harsh.

It doesn't hurt and it won't hurt the baby. That's what they do until you are 10 weeks or so. It is the best way to measure baby accurately
