So I just went to go get one of my wic checks, and the cashier asked for an actual ID not just the packet. Its weird because that's never happened before. Does anybody else have to do this? Is it something that recently changed or was the cashier just confused about how she was supposed to do it?

Weird. We don't have to to where I'm from! Just have to show the packet

How did you even get it without an ID? I had to show ID just for a pregnancy confirmation. And I think most places are requiring it now bc people do sell them. There are a lot of pwiple scamming the system. I've known people that sell their food stamps for cash

In California, they used to ask for my id and the packet. We have checks too. I wish they would switch to a card

They only verify my signature on my packet to the one signed on the check. I've never been asked for an ID.

Certain stores require you to show your actual I.D. Sometimes it depends on the store manager. The store manager for the Walmart I used to work for had cashiers and backup cashiers check I.D. when processing WIC checks.

The only problem I have with it, is that I don't have an ID yet. I need to get my SS card, because of a fire.

Ask Wic if it's normal like that.I think almost every state is different, in Kentucky I just had a card and everyone could used it but in Arizona I have a little folder with my signature on it and only me can use it

I've been asked for an id almost every time I used a check. only my husband and I were authorized to use them, so they wanted to make sure.we were the ones.who did. I don't see a problem.with that.

I don't have a card, I have checks. And I don't think she was suspicious, she said that she needed to see an actual ID. I think maybe   she was confused when she was told how to process wic. Shes new and none of the other employees have asked for an actual ID, just the packet that I signed.

Me either, and I don't even have an ID. If this is a permanent thing then I won't be able to get wic without my husband with me, until I get an ID.

Really weird because anybody can use your wic card for you.. My boyfriend and my mom have gone to the grocery store with my card before. And the people at wic office said its allowed..

If they are suspicious then they can ask. Since its government money they can verify how its being spent :)

The "I.d" should just be the yellow card you get that you sign your name on and keep your vouchers in
