What is it like to get your cervix checked?

I am 36 weeks and 4 days. I go to the doctor Monday, I was wondering if it hurts when the doctor checks to see if you're dilated? I'm nervous because my mom said it can cause you to go in later on after you get it checked, is this true? I've never had a baby before and I am super nervous.

I just had it done today and it was not too uncomfortable for me. Since then I have had slight bleeding so I'd make sure to wear a pad. No cramping afterwards. Good luck!

For me no pain, no inconfort but I never had a problem with gynecological examen either. I'm 35 weeks and baby is head down, low but not that low according to my gyneco.

She uses her hand, to reaches up to feel the opening of your cervix. She's not using a devices, so basically it he farther up she has to go that's what brings more pain. If the baby is super low, you will be ok.

I wouldn't say that it hurts but it can be VERY uncomfortable depending how high your baby is yet... the farther down your canal they drop, the less uncomfortable that it is.
