baby showers

I am due in October with my little one, I come from a very large extent ed family both on my husband's and my side. I have been told by both sides that they want to throw a baby shower for us but not until after the baby is already born. While I am super appreciative I am really stressing out about not having what I will need when baby arrives! These showers won't happen till 2-3 months after his arrival. Has anyone else had this problem?

The only thing you need for baby for the first few months are some clothes, diapers, a place to sleep, a carrier and bottles if you plan to formula feed. Some people wait to have baby there if there are a lot of out of town family members who plan to attend.

Yes I've had this same problem with my daughter and I was super worried about not having what she needs but when we had the shower 2months after I was surprised of how many things she had she even had 4boxes of new born pampers left over

Tell one side about your worries and tell them you want a baby shower & a welcome to the world party (that's what I call it) :) tell them you will need stuff to hold you off until the shower. If they don't understand then go shopping yourself. You can never have to many diapers and milk (if your not breast feeding)

I don't want to seem ungrateful cause I am VERY great full! They both want to do the whole sip & see things. Then waiting till after gets into holidays.

Stress to both sides of the fam your concerns and see if one side is willing to throw one prior to birth, being you're having two b.showers.
