Fluid around baby less than it should be

Hi ladies, I'm 34 weeks pregnant and during my last ultrasound I was told the fluid around my baby (amniotic fluid) is in the low normal. Has anyone been told this? If yes how did it affect your pregnancy or baby, if at all? When I asked my OB NP what to do about it, she said to drink lots of water and lay on my left side. I'm concerned because I already drink a lot of water.. about 3-4L a day as I'm always thirsty in my pregnancy. Any opinions please???

Thank you ladies!! This is my second baby and I was actually induced at 37 weeks with my son and he is a healthy 14 month old even though I was told at some point in my pregnancy with him that his kidneys were enlarged. i'm just happy that my baby is close to full term in case anything happens. I wish us all safe deliveries :)

The same thing happen to my sister in law and she had an emergency c section at around 37 weeks. My niece is now a healthy 3 year old. Don't worry too much. Good luck :)

I dont know too much information but sometimes it signals the baby is swallowing too much fluid and cant remember for the life of me what it means, I do know its nothing seriously serious and although you will worry try not to as it is very common, if fluid remains low volume they may induce you at 37 week, my daughter wad born at 24 week and turns 7 this month, it may turn out to be good news for you and meeting your little a few week earlier tgan planned! :) im 39 week and cant express how much I want to meet my little man now and would do anything to be induced lol! Always look on the brightside! Good luck :)
