c section

Im 36weeks and been told I have to have a csection at 38weeks.
How long does a csection take? A hour? Half hour 10mins?
Do they put you to sleep?
Are you awake?
Does it hurt?...
Can ur family still be in the room

Oh! And the surgery itself doesnt hurt. ur numb so all u feel is some pressure from when they pull it out. After u get feeling back the healing process does hurt im not going to lie but they give u pain medicine they will help a lot as long as u take it on time and take it the right way

I was only allowed one person with both of mine. They keep u awake. And from what I remember It only took about 30 minutes or so from the time they put the spinal in, did the surgery,  and put me back together. Very quick

As far as ik only 1 person mau be with you.  All I had with mine but may depend on hospital etc. Surgery takes about 45 start to finish. You normally are not put to sleep for a planned cesarean. Just numbed with epidural or spinal block. And you should ask about delayed cord clamping if that's an option with cesarean. I will most likely have a repeat cesarean dec 12 and we can still do delayed clamp even with a cesarean. Ask if your support may have camera my husband was able to hold our son put him on the weighing scale and take his picture pretty much right after he was out and wiped off a bit. Ask if you can hold the baby immediately to start skin to skin while your being stitched up. You can still have a birth plan even with a scheduled csection :-) good luck

Ok you check in they get an IV going and run it for at keast 2 hours to boost blood volume. Next the place a catheter. Then you wait for the OR to be available. Next they take you alone first to administer a necer block. They inject a medicine into the spine makeing you go numb from the chest down all you will feel is some pressure. Next the person or people allowed in with you come in. They will be dressed in scrubs and have their head and shoes covered. Then they hang a scteen up blocking the veiw of your belly and begin the cutting. The removal of baby takes between 3 and 10 minutes. Next baby is checked and baby and who ever is with you go to recovery. You qill then be given nausea meds and they close. That can take 20 to 30 minutes then you goin baby in recovery. Nerve block qill still be in effect it takes several hours the were off. You should be up walking the next day.
