cramping/dilated!

Went to my 38 week appt today and Im still 2 cm dilated from last week. She said my cervix is still thick as well. Anyone else cervix still thick at 2cm? Also having mild cramping and idk if its because she checked me. She said she has no idea wen hes coming :(

Im 37 weeks n im only a 1 :/ been stuck here for a month almost :/ been havin sex n it dnt help at all it seems... my cervix is soft though, my dr hasnt told me if im thined though :p i wish it would do more cause i feel blah with it only at 1... i thought about starting epo but if sex dnt help i dnt think that will :/ good luck hun

if your doctor says it's very thick expect at least another week out.  If baby comes sooner you will be pleasantly surprised. but walking helps because it forces gravity to help loosen your cervix with the baby and placenta's weights sitting on it.

Well that's the funny thing u can go month at 2 then in a day shoot up to four. The great thing about pregnancy its unpredictable and each one is unique.  Relaxing definatly helps though and try not to think about it.  What helps me is walking.

Try having sex as well.  The semen will thin the cervix!

Can you cervix thin/loosen fairly quickly? Ive been having menstrual like cramps since I got checked this morning

Yup that's actually fairly normal for some women. They say something in pine apples help thin/loosen the cervix. As for the cramping it's your body reving up for the big day, i'd like to say it lightens up but it doesn't it gets stronger.  They're called bronxton hicks.  Try to relaxe stress will slow down progress.

Yes, with my son I was the same way. Squats helped me and cleaning the house  getting all tidy for baby helped pass time
