dying hair? advice please

I'm 15 weeks, in my second trimester. Would it be okay to dye my hair?

This concern has to do with studies that show rats injected with large quantities of the dye present an increased rate of birth defects. Some studies show statistically lower birth weight in hairdressers who work with color without a mask and gloves through their pregnancy. Just getting your color touched up is not nearly enough exposure to cause problems.

My doctor told me yes at my last visit when I asked, just ammonia free and a well ventilated area...
