And I carried 40 weeks with no health problems. People shouldn't judge, doctors wouldn't prescribe it if it was that bad!

Ok so with my first baby I had hg. I couldn't hold down water vitamins food or anything. I talked to my Dr and he prescribed me many thing s nothing helped and I ended up in the hospital being malnourished and dehydrated. I lived in California where weed is legal, and he prescribed it to me. I was skeptical but I couldn't eat it sleep anymore and baby was affected. So I tried it. I did it minimally but the result s were night and day.  I had energy, I could eat I could sleep! It was beautiful. I did get my placenta tested and her miconium. Doctor said there's no medical proof that it can be transferred to the placenta. Cps did not get involved and I now have a SMARt healthy happy five year old. I am not encouraging anyone to smoke, just stating my opinion. I'm 36 weeks and would never smoke now but I felt I had no choice before. It is illegal here and totally not worth the risk of losing my baby girl.

Yall are so sad. So far the negative effects you all have suggested is miscarrying, breathing problems, add/adhd, and slowness. With that being said if you miscarried it has nothing to do with the smoking. I was born with premature with asthma nd I have adhd and behavior problems and my brother has add only and my mom did everything she was supposed to while pregnant.  **** happens. Dont assume that b.c someones child has problems it was b.c of something they did. You arent scientists so stop acting like you know. Did you ever think that maybe their baby was going to turn out like that either way? What about people that live in dc Colorado nd other places where weed is legal nd recommended for some people? Are they bad parents and stupid drs ? Dont think so. Theres a difference between knowledge and beliefs. And again the point of this app is to answer questions not throw salt on people and bash them with what you THINK is right and wrong. Keep your opinions to yourself and dont judge ppl b.c it is not anyones place to do so. If a person wants to smoke let em ppl were smoking weed and cigarettes and w.e before it was looked down upon. It wasnt a problem then why is it now?

My mom smoked alot with me while pregnant and there is absolutely nothing wrong with me, it wont cause u to misscarry... if you misscarry while smokeing it was not due to the weed

Listen to me! We are all hormonal, you all need to stop being ignorant. I live in colorado its completely legal here. I smoke very minimal amounts now to keep my nausea at bay. Im taking added progesterone and I wouldnt sleep or eat at all right now if i didnt have it. I go to organic despensories or growers to rule out pesticides. It isnt the marijuana Im worried about it would be the carbon monoxide from burning so they do tell you to stop (smoking) when your futher along, and in the third trimester near the end to stop completely since certain hospitals will test you after baby is born. Dont need added drama.-Done-

I don't understand why I'm being called stupid and my nurse went off of studies that have been done. and weed isn't just a plant they put chemicals in it how do you think you get high ? there isn't a need to be rude. if you actually look up facts on weed it is a drug and it does have over 400 chemicals in it. no need to call me stupid or my nurse just saying.

Well i smoked befor and stoped but i dont see anything wrong with pot. I just didnt want it in my babys system due to cps can get involved but weed is not a 'drug' drugs are chemicaly changed by people, all you do for weed is grow it and smoke it... alot of medicens are way worse than weed. Id rather smoke weed to ease my belly or head than take pills that are actual drugs. Weed should not be clasified as a drug

You sound just stupid saying that. Your nurse doesnt know what she is talking about if she told you that. Doctors recommend when you get pregnant, not to change what you do too much because it is worse for your body and baby to quit something while pregnant. Cannabis oil is used to treat brain tumors in infants, i think smoking a little weed is just fine. Cigarettes have all those nasty chemicals in them. Weed doesnt have chemicals its a plant that you pick buds off, that will be legal soon enough.  & child protective services will not take your kid after they are born. As long as you dont have weed around the child after it is born. When a mother has more hardcore drug problems the doctor & hospital work with the mother & child to make sure they are okay & have a safe, drugfree environment for the child to live in.

I believe to each its own personally I don't think weed will harm your baby but their are risk of your child developing slower than most kids but as a mother that's a decision you have to decide whether or not its really worth it

If your baby is born with an illegal drug in its system in some states that is enough for child protective services to take your child.  It's not worth it.

People comment, weed is a "drug." Drugs are bad for baby. Epidural, zofran, benadryl, cough syrup, ect. All "drugs." Just like the girl who posted this, I too know people who have smoked marijuana throughout pregnancy. They all delivered healthy babies. It is a personal choice. I personally would not smoke anything during pregnancy just for possibility of something going wrong. I would feel guilt. But like I said, I know plenty of healthy weed babies.

You people are so rude! With me I feel horrible about smoking an Itty bit but I do because when I don't I barely eat and have a hard time sleeping. When I smoke I sleep and eat lots. What's better for mom and baby not eating and not sleeping or sleeping and eating? Don't judge people.

I know someone that got recommended a small dosage to decrease nausea. Her nausea was so horrible, nothing else worked for her.

many of you are assuming that because she asked about it, she's the one doing it. If you'd have read through the comments she clearly stated she isn't. She has friends that are pg and smoking and was just curious. Personally I wouldn't but that's just my opinion and if decided to do it while I'm around,I'd excuse myself, but I can't handle smoke period.
