Hello laidys I recently just stop smoking weed yes I k ow it hasn't been proven either way which is why I stoped but I didn't even find out I was preg till I was 16 weeks and I'm 23 now weined myself off at a steady pace had stoped for like three weeks and smoked once two weeks ago to relieve a horrid migraine well I did my 2 and trimester blood work and they call me treating me like I'm a crack head! Asking me all of these ridiculous questions and then they said they have to report it to child services because I have two Lil boys! Wtf! I'm so angry and upset I can't even see straight! Has anyone had this problem when stoping and it still being in your system. And also they said I now have to randomly drug test I can't do that I have a job school and two small children when the hell would I have the time to do that!

Depending on where you live they might visit your home. So get rid of any paraphanellia. If your significant other smokes then he is going to have to figure something out to keep it out of the house. At 23 weeks as long as you can stay clean you will be ok and there wont even be a case to continue. Since your doctors are involved and got cps involved you have to quit. It ***** and at times you will be tempted but I urge you to stay clean! I live in Texas and stopped smoking only because I am afraid of CPS. I am a believer that very moderate smoking/vaping particularly as it is more healthy, can help deal with a lot of symptoms of pegnancy without perscription or OTC medications which are not natural like marijuanna. Unfortunately, the government does not agree with this(yet). You will get hate from others who have a biased opinion and have done no research, just dont let it get to you. Your not a bad mommy. However it is up to YOU now to stay clean since you got called out. Good luck hun and try not to stress! Look for other ways to relieve stress. As long as you get clean and clean up your house you will have nothing to worry about!

Thank you! I have stoped and did so whith my first two too. And dads smoking stuff is all outside in the gerage so that shouldn't be an issue. And agree with u on all of that! I hate taking medicine at all much less when preg but it's OK I got this thank you for the reassurance

Honestly, idk if the garage will be sufficient enough. That is still considered your home ya know? You don't know how thorough they will search your home if they do. I say get rid of any glass and have him switch to just joints/blunts so if CPS comes knocking on your door you can get rid of it. You cant flush a glass piece. If he really is concerned about the family he will cooperate. And your very welcome, I am an advocate for women like yourself! No child should be taken because of this and no women should be treated like a crack head because of this either! It makes me so mad..

I smoked but quit as soon as I found out I was pregant. My doctors mentioned they saw it in a urine test the first test I had and told me I needed it to be clean the next time or they would have to take action. Never heard a word about it because I kept clean. It usually stays in your system for 2-4 weeks. Good luck tho! It was easy for me the first time to quit because I wanted a baby so bad and so I actually had a reason to quit I was growing another life inside me. I am pregnant again and this time it was a little tougher to give up..I used it to deal with depression after losing my uncle to cancer. But I did it. That first week is always the worst!

Ya i think for most women it is very easy to quit when you hear the word cps. I was smoking before I knew I was pregnant, I was about 4 weeks when I found out so my first visit I was def not clean. I didnt and havent heard anything of it so I am thinking they are gunna test me closer to the due date and since I am clean I shouldnt have any issues. Its still so scary though.

I was a casual weed smoker before finding out I was PG. I found out I was expecting when I was 8 weeks and stopped smoking after that. I was very open to my doctor about it and she was very understanding. I can't believe you were treated that way. That's terrible. :( positive vibes being sent your way.

Thank you I'm just trying not to freak out. From what I have gathered as long as I test clean and nothing is kept where the children can sew or obtain it we should be fine. I just don't understand why she was so mean that office has never been so mean

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that bs. As long as you and newborn baby both test clean at birth (and maybe even postpartum check up) they won't have a case.
And if daddy has a medical card they can't really day anything about his paraphernalia being in the garage. If your other 2 kids play in the garage, is put a stop to that for now though. Just to be on the safe side. And you can try to get them to work with you on the random tests. Explain how much you have going on and ask them to give you 24-48hr notice and to make home visits.
Good luck, good momma!

That's a good idea and the kids don't play in the gerage because all of that stuff is in there and they have no business being arround that. I'm not sure why she was quite so darn mean but my grama used to work for dcfs and said the same thing as long as me and baby test clean there is nothing to worrie about

I don't smoke weed but this makes me wonder what they would do here in Washington if someone were 21 and pregnant and smoking weed since its legal for anyone over 21

@ kyana same thing as alcohol I would guess. If the baby has it in its system they would probably take action.

I thought it was illegal to be tested without your knowledge or say so. I would definitely find a new doctor. They are obviously very ignorant. Did you know, way back when, doctors used to prescribe pot to pregnant women to help with mood and discomfort from pregnancy?

Well at @hay they also use to think it was fine to drink and smoke. Times just change.

@mfyab we all know your against it so why do you comment?? Feel like starting off the day bashing and judging others?? Get outta here because I know you are just waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce. & yes everyone else, since it is still illegal under federal law cps can and will still get involved no matter where you live.

Also, since 2012 it is no longer a law that you had to be informed about being drug tested.

I am against it while pregnant, but I'm not about to judge you. At thus point there's nothing that can be done in regards to cps except go through the motions and let them investigate.
Illegal drugs are something that doctors need to report as even tho its just weed is still a street drug and can cause child endangerment or neglect (I know it's weed but they need to treat all street drugs the same)

As long as there is no other reason to believe you are 'unfit' or neglectful or you are doing other drug in home or around your children (get ready for a talking to like nothing before) you should be OK. Also expect to be tested Every appt you go to and for everyone in the office to know what happened.
I'm sorry if thus come off harsh it was not intended

Also cps do Not need to give Any notice before showing up and prefer not too. The don't want to give time for cleaning etc. This way they can see the house as it normally is
