really annoyed

So me and my mother in law get on fine but she is very overpowering and quite annoying but to keep the peace I bite my tongue a lot. Well MIL says she's kept my husbands moses basket on the attic and wanted me to use it for my baby. I said no as it's been in the attic for 28 years!! We live in Wales so very cold/damp climate so stuff does tend to go musty or mouldy in the attics. I have a new moses basket and sheets and she keeps winding me up saying "well I'm using Matts basket when the baby sleeps over mine" or "I've got a lovely basket ready for the baby".

Am I being unreasonable?? I'm a first time mum and have already lost one baby last year to MC so very nervous about risking anything with my babies health.

Should I tell her shes not allowed to use it and if she insists say she can't have the baby overnight xx

What you want for your baby is your business. You do not need to justify or explain anything to anyone other than your partner. Its very rude for people to not listen to and accept your opinion. It may be a conversation your partner needs to hsve with her.

I would ask to take a look at it first. If it has gotten bad you can point it out to her and explain your concerns and show her the proof. She can't deny what's right in front of her. If she still insists then put your foot down. This is your baby not hers.
