EPO?

I am 36 weeks on wednesday and am being induced today in 3 weeks. I want to start the process of getting my body ready for labour and have been looking at epo. I have read that the very least it will do is prevent any tearing. I tore with my first and he was only 3.1kg at 42 wks...this one has been 2weeks ahead for almost the entire pregnancy so am naturally worried about tearing with a bigger baby. I have also read that epo will not hasten labour unless your body is ready. All i would want is my body to be better prepared than with my previous induction where i was not dilated, cervix not thinned and baby not engaged. It took a long time for induction. Any advice on epo and how to take?

I will be doin the same as you,im only 28 weeks but will be induced between 37/38 weeks and want it to be somewhat easier..from all i have read up on it i will start taking 1000mg orally and 1000mg vaginally for a week and then increase to 2000mg vaginally the second week...some people insert 5 or 6 capsules but personally i wouldnt be comfortable taking that amount...3000mg daily is the reccommended intake

I used it a little bit during my pregnancy. I kept forgetting though.
I head take 100 milligrams a day.uou can take it orally or vaginally. I don't know how well it works against tearing, I tore really bad. But I didn't tear my perineum I tore my labia.
I totally get your fear. I would take it just I'm case
