ok. smokeless tobacco.

So I have been dipping for years. When I found out I was pregnant and I told my obgyn and midwife that I dont smoke but I dip they said just dont smoke. But when I read stuff online it says it is bad for the baby. But my obgyn and midwife would have told me to stop if it would hurt the baby right? Because the dip doesnt get to the baby unless I swallow it

Well it does contain nicotine and other harmful chemicals. If I were you I would stop for the sake of my baby but that's your decision.

If the nicotine is gettn into ur system its gettn into the babys system the nicotine is just as bad as the smoke. Babies can come out addicted to things especially nicotine. Nicotine is a cancer causing agent

The nicotine is getting into your blood stream and can be a higher concentration than even cigarettes. The nicotine can be harmful to your baby. It increases several different things such as abnormalities, heart defects etc. But....It is better than smoking because you aren't getting the 4000 additional chemicals that come with cigarettes. Tmits best to quit altogether to reduce any risk tho. And I'm not judging at all....trust me. I smoked cigarettes when I found out I was pregnant. It took me till I was 18 weeks to quit smoking cigarettes. I went to the patch and to the gum which is like chewing BUT I still quit that because of the added risks it posed to the baby. Try and quit....and good luck hun

So the way I see it is when you chew or dip, the little microglass pieces are cutting up your lip, making it easier for the nicotine to get into your blood stream. Therefore, the nicotine is getting to baby.

But if baby is healthy and you don't want to quit, then by all means go for it. No judgment here. I mean My mom smoked all 4 pregnancies and we turned out just fine. Lol.
