has anyone ever have severe itching in pregnancy

I am almost 20 weeks, with my third child. I am having such severe itching, mostly on my legs, feet and palms of my hands at night, been happing for about two months. Nothing seems to help, if I even scratch a little the whole area will get hot and red. No new food/ alergin exposures, no rash. I heard it may have something to do with liver?? Anyone had this, or any ideas on how to calm the itch?! Help!!!

I had severe itching at about the same time 19/20 wks. My legs, thighs sometimes my tummy.. my doctor said cause of hormones your skin just has a different reaction to things but it was so annoying to deal with. I ended up buying eczema lotion and it helped a lot

That kind of sounds like what my sisters kids had. Scabies. But you should call your doctor.

Talk to your doc about this ASAP. If it is the liver it could cause problems for you and the babe. They will do a simple blood draw to check to see if it is.

Until you talk to doc and get the labs try a good moisturizing lotion with no dyes or perfume.  Cetaphil or eucerine both are great. Maybe oatmeal baths. Never tried that one but I heard they work.  Did you change laundry soaps or bath products recently? Maybe go to dye and perfume free on both to see if that helps.
