To vaccine or not to vaccine baby after birth ...

I've heard so many opinions and just wondering what you ladies will do once your baby is born?

Okay I'm not bashing anyone but I had a thought on this I'd like to share. My baby and I were rH incompatible. Without the shots they provide (considered a type of vaccination) my baby could have had sever problems or could have died. Weather or not big pharma makes this I do not know. There is a reason for these vaccinations and it's not to make big pharma rich ir whoever developed this shot. They are there to save lives and prevent complications. Again it's your choice and I agree with the previous post. Do your research. Best of luck!

Research and make an educated decision I personally don't believe in "herd immunity". Your kid has a higher chance of dying from the flu then from measles. Considering all it is a rash.

I think that if I would choose not to vaccinate my baby, then I will be asking for vaccination certificate to EVERYONE coming in contact with my kid. Actully, I think vaccinations should be mandatories...it is not only your kid, it is a global health issue...there are people with weak immune systems that cannot get vaccinated..so everybody that can should get them.

I chose to vaccinate my first 2 but That's because I didn't educate myself first. My last 2 I did not rush to have them vaccinated I waited til they was in preschool so like 3/4 yrs old. Most vaccines like Hep B are not necessary for a newborn especially once u read how Hep B is spread. Vaccines are just a way to keep the pharmaceutical companies rich. I suggest u strongly educate yourself first and then make ur decision, don't let anyone make u feel like u have to or that ur baby has to have it. After all ur mom and u have to make the decisions for ur little one, just do it knowing the pros and cons. Good luck

I am definitely vaccinating my son as I did with my daughter if I can prevent them from a disease I will. The thing is that they can get sick from anyone not just kids at school so I don't see the reason on waiting until they go to school.

My thought on waiting til my kid is in school is that then my 4 year-old gets measles because some other kid isn't vaccinated... I don't want to chance it. I know that people argue that these diseases are not a real threat, but they're not a threat because people are vaccinated against them which keeps them under control

I appreciate the responses ladies...

I have heard that a lot.of women wait until their child is a out to go to school to get vaccinated.... allows their immune system to build on its own for a few years....

What are your thoughts???

Defiantly vaccinating my daughter! It's not even a thought that would cross my mind not to. My 5 year old has been vaccinated too, and will continue to be whenever vaccinations need to be done.

We vaccinated our daughter when she was born and I also had a tDap booster. I believe in vaccinations and our daughter will have all of hers. She's 3 days old now and healthy as can be! It's your choice to vaccinate but why chance your child getting a preventable disease. In the US we tame vaccinations for granted. There are 3rd world countries that suffer because they don't have them.

I will vaccinate, but there may be a few we will wait on (for example, I personally see no reason to give a hepatitis vaccine to an infant in the US). I've extensively studied human development and read many scholarly sources on the matter, and although nothing is without risk, the risk to your child and others is higher if you opt out. Many of these illnesses are on the rise because of vaccine scares, but I've never seen scholarly research suggesting that vaccines cause autism. Factors linked to autism include vitamin deficiency (especially D) and having had the flu at certain times in pregnancy. Age is also correlated.

We are definitely vaccinating her no question. Both my husband and I were vaccinated at birth. I do not want to risk preventable diseases for my daughter. But, that is my opinion.
