ultrasounds in third trimester?

The last ultrasound I received was at 20 weeks I think where they did all the basic measurements and the gender. Only had one before that (since my first doc app was at 3 months), will I get another one if baby is healthy?? I see other moms who know how much their baby weighs while in late pregnancy and I want to see my son again and know he's growing steadily!! Any hope for me? My doctor's visits have seemed so pointless lately, just blood pressure test and doppler and they send me on my way :/

I'm 23 weeks, my last ultrasound was at 21 weeks for the gender and measurements, and my doctor said my next ultrasound will be at 28 or 30 weeks. I have a healthy baby and also had my first appointment/ultrasound at 12 weeks.

Doctors can tell if growth is on track by measuring your fundal height - they don't need an ultrasound for that. And doctors CAN'T tell baby's weight by ultrasound - it's just a guess based on length, and incredibly inaccurate. Third trimester ultrasounds are unnecessary and unhelpful in the vast majority of cases (besides high risk pregnancies of course). The only real way to find out how big your baby is, is to wait until you deliver and then take a look!

Actually im 33 weeks pregnant nd my pregnancy has been great no problems what so every Nd I've had more than two done .(as stated in my previous comonent) the first one at 9 weeks was to confirm I was pregnant. Nd the other three where from my doctor. I honestly thought I was only gonna get two but he said everything was fine with both me and baby the I only reason why I had one done at 32 weeks was to see how much she weights so far Nd I'll have one by 38 weeks (if I haven't had her) just to get an estimate on how much she will be weighting at birth. But like I said every doctor is different . most don't give more than two

Im at 35+3 and low risk.
Where I am you also only have an ultrasound at 12 weeks and again at 20 weeks and thats it. I know some people who got had to have them regularly but only because they were either diabetic or they had IVF so I think you only have more than 2 if youre high risk or if theres an issue they need to check up on. You can always go have a private scan :) I went for a private scan at 8 weeks because I didnt believe I was actually pregnant haha!

I get scans once a month but I'm high risk so its the high risk doctor that does them

Where I live you only get 2 scans for a normal pregnancy, 12wks and 20wks. The only reason you get more if they can't get certain measurements or need to do a growth scan in the final trimester because of concerns over baby's size.  But take it as a good thing, if you don't have more scans and all your prenatal checks are good it means your pregnancy is progressing perfectly and all is well.

I had one at 9, 12, 19 and 32 weeks ill be getting one more before I get to 38 weeks. It just depends on your doctor Nd insurance. But hopefully you get another one soon (:

Most doctor do not do another ultrasound because insurance companies dont pay for them if the baby is healthy. But you can get it done with your own money
