You should talk to your doctor about what healthy weight gain is for you, its different for each of us. If you are having trouble eating try protein supplement shakes or even carnation instant breakfast drink powders. As long as your doctor says that your baby looks healthy and is meeting the development markers on time then everything should be fine. I have found that in the third trimester I am having to remind myself to eat since the room in my stomach is less and less. But the supplement drinks help. My cousin only gained 14 lbs total and her daughter was a healthy 6.8 lbs at birth.
Walking and grazing are good ways to keep your weight down. I munch throughout the day and drink a bunch of water and have only gained 5 pounds. My doctor only wants me to gain 10 at the most. But obviously have also lost 34 pounds in my first 15 weeks between morning sickness and walking.
Breast feeding will help a lot. You burn up to 500 calories a day! My Dr. said it is like running a marathon! How crazy. But thats still healthy baby weight that you lose that way. My sister inlaw gained 60pounds with my neice. Gaining weight is never easy, but just know you arent alone. Enjoy your pregnancy, just think before you eat. Pay attention to times, portions.
Just message me if you need to talk. You are not
I am 31 weeks. I would gorge myself on food, and before I got pregnant I ate a lot and always seemed to maintain a weight of 135, so I assumed I had a high metabolism... Which would explian why I needed to eat so much, to keep myself and my baby well fueled.
I have also heard that breastfeeding helps you get back to your pre-baby weight...
How far along are you lady's that have gained a lot? I am worried I haven't gained enough I will be 29 wks and have gained 4 lbs.
I totally hear you! I feel yah. At the beggining I was 160 and at my last two monthly visits, together I gained 16pounds. It kills me to see that, and absolutely tares me up that I cant even talk about it until after a couple days. I am due March 14, I am 17weeks and 4days. I havent heard much from my Dr. but I know that I am almost at the weight that I needed to gain! Up until a week ago, I was eating everytime I was hungry, I wasnt snacking, I was eating. Every two hours I am starving! Like I havent eaten at all. It is important to snack, not eat.
As far as I am aware you only need to take in an extra 300 or so calories a day, I was similar in my first pregnancy tho. I craved sweet things, cakes etc but also apples. You will know yourself better than any one. All the best ☺
I have felt the same way, I have already gained about 40 lbs... I have tried to exercise more and eat healthier foods the idea being I can still eat my hearts content but less fatty foods wont make me tack on the weight.
Try to remember that gaining too much weight can be bad for you and baby. It's OK to indulge in cravings, but don't over do it.
