Im due April 21st with my second boy :) in my case my son was the one asking me for a baby so he is super happy and anxious for the new baby and he is also like "mommy we have to buy clothes for the baby, and cover and all that mommy" his a great son and im sure his gonna be an awesome oldest brother, good luck for you and your little ones :)

I am also due April 13th with a little girl! My husband & I help raise my little sister who is 8, she has her own bedroom which will now need to be shared as we live in a 2 bedroom house. She has called me mom from a very young age & long story short, I absolutely consider her my first baby! Anyway, I see some jealousy there, especially with this baby actually coming from my belly & the room situation but overall she has been really excited & asks all the time when baby will be here, touches my belly, talks to her...sharing is hard but when you make it fun it helps! She's getting some upgraded big girl things for her half of the room & helping redecorate & we took her along for the gender reveal ultrasound. She's old enough to be involved more I'm not sure how old your first is but I think as long as they know they are by no means being forgotten or replaced with a new baby & get to be apart of something bigger-because being a big sister really is the best feeling in the world!-they'll adjust better. With everyone doting on the new babe don't let her get lost in the shuffle. Jealousy is a normal reaction to such a life changing event but with some time & love she'll do great! Good luck!

I have a 3 yr old daughter and a one year old daughter. Don't  be nervous. Just try to spend time with your first daughter when your newborn is sleeping and try to spend time with them together. Try to keep your first daughter involved like asking her to help. Don't tell at her also when she tries to help also encourage her to get involved and explain to her calmly when she does something that she shouldn't, like picking up the baby. My oldest didn't start really playing with the baby til she started walking.also just a tip try not to force it, let the oldest have her space to they will bond when they are ready.
