AFP lightly higher than normal???

I got a call from the clinic I'm being seen for my pregnancy they told me the AFP test was a little bit higher than normal and they sent me to an ultrasound to and specialized hospital I'm terrified they say there's a minimum chance of down syndrome with the baby anyone else with this problem? ?? I'm really worried doctor said most of positive results have healthy babies but I'm still very worried!  :(

I have a special needs son, I'm pregnant with my third baby. I personally say have faith and love your baby no matter the out come. I didn't know mine was special needs till he was a few years old. He has changed my life for the better and I wouldn't have it another way. Another thing, testing only causes you distress,I say just wait till your baby is born. The testing will not change anything, only cause you to worry more. They wanted me to get testing done this time only because I have a special needs son already. I declined because it will not change the way I love this baby and by no means would I terminate no matter what they tell me. God will bless you, have faith and stay strong. You can do it :-)

When my mom was pregnant with me they told her I was at risk of having downs syndrome. The test had a higher risk of killing me than being accurate so my parents just studied how to take care of a child with special needs and when I was born... totally healthy. I am 20 years old, graduated high school, married,  and expecting my first baby in August. I am sure it can be scary but those tests aren't super accurate
