zofran.

So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?

I agree, if you are constantly vomiting and dehydrated then take it but do try to take it in moderation...mom needsnto be healthy in order for baby to be healthy...i had the flu and was left with a terrible cough in my 1st trimester...doc prescibed me an inhaler to help me ease my cough, but when the pharmacisits gave me the info on that inhaler i said def "no" level C i think, dangerous for fetus ...read the fine print on that bottle and try home remedies to ease your pain ladies. ..good luck, btw i am 20 weeks pregnant!

If you needed zofran than you have been dealing with severe morning sickness/ hyperemesis.  Dehydration after vomiting every 30-45 minutes is extremely dangerous.  I'm sure no one takes it for the heck of it.  No pregnant women sign up for drug trials just for the sake of trials so some things are unknown risks.

(There was a recent article about acetaminophen causing ADHD but most people wouldn't consider tylenol very risky.)

My sister took zofran with both of her little girls and they are both very healthy, very perfect little girls.
In some cases zofran might cause defects but its not the only thing to do so, it could be genetics or something else you've been exposed to during pregnancy.

My cousin took it  (no lie!!) and her baby was born with her wrist bent where her little hand was resting on the arm.  They had to break it and replace it back in position then wrapped in baby cast. I personally would never take it and haven't with any of my three pregnancies.   Sending you lots of good vibes for a happy healthy bouncy baby. Some taken it and nothing had happened.

Don't worry about it. They wouldn't give it to you if itcaused any harm. I took it thru my pregnancy, and I'm 37+5 and he's a big healthy baby boy
