Baby movement

Okay, for all of you ladies out there pregnant with multiples, how soon did you begin to feel movement? I am only 12 weeks but I think I have been feeling small movements for the past two weeks. My doctor looked at me funny when I told her. lol. Just wondering when that began for others. Also, any ideas on good ways to get all your calories in for the day in a healthy way? I've been having a hard time getting over 2000 and the book I read about multiples nutrition suggests 3500 for a twin pregnancy and 16 glasses of water which is also a challenge. I've know about the pregnancy for 6wks and I haven't gained any weight!

Sorry I am responding late, I got put on bed rest and I am doing everything but that....lol. I will get better. With the movements of the babies, I was able to feel a slight bump in the beginning. As the weeks goes by, I can tell the difference with my son and my daughter. I am about to be 35 weeks on Sat and I noticed my daughter do a lot more movement than my son. Reason being, she is located at the top with a lot more room than my son which is located at the bottom. I have noticed today, he was doing a lot of movement and she was too. I am thinking they were playing with one another....lol. The amazing part is when you feel the hiccups........I think that is a beautiful thing to feel that movement on both of the babies.

Now one thing you should do is try not to worry. I know that is easier said than done but it will get you upset and maybe affect the babies. One thing I do love about my doctor is that I can always email her and the turn around response is 24 hours. If you have any concerns about the babies be sure to contact your doctor. Hope this helps!

wow, that is really late movement. I am hoping I don't have to wait that long to feel actual movement because I am always worried that something happened to one of them in there between ultrasounds. If you can't tell i'm a worrier. So April can you feel each one move or can you not tell which one is moving? I know after a certain point you are supposed to make sure babies are moving... just wondering if its hard to make sure both are.

I felt my babies movement at 18-20 weeks. This is my first pregnancy, which I heard many women who have had previous pregnancy feel their babies much sooner. I am 34 weeks now and I am having a boy and a girl. Good luck to all!

Good luck with those twins! Do you know what the sexes are yet? I can't wait until I feel more movement! Until then I always worry if they are still in there or not or if something happened to one. Have you gotten a video of the belly moving? I think that is so neat, even when there is just one in there, I can't even imagine what it looks like with two. Well thanks for the advice!

I felt little flutters around 14 weeks, but the babies really started kicking at 22 weeks for me.  (I have an anterior placenta so it kind of blocks the kicks!)  Now I can see my whole stomach move when they kick!

I wouldn't worry about the calories for now.  I actually ended up losing 10 lbs the first trimester due to morning sickness, and now I'm almost 27 weeks with twins and have gained 20 lbs!  The most important thing is to just stay hydrated.  My doctor recommended around 8-10 glasses of water per day, and I'm ok so far!   Best of luck to you!
