My dr will fo another FFN on tuesday and if it is positive then I will be placed in the hospital and he will give me steroid shots then. I have been on bedrest for ever and it is still hard to get around and I do not do anything either. I have a NICU where I am delivering but I do not want them there I am doing everything in my power to keep them in a little longer. I know that it the nest thing for them. I will be delivering over an hour away so I feel ya on that one. I am scared of how it will be when the twins get here being almost 33 weeks now I experienced my belly being so hard and every move with the boys that they make it hurts me I really feel as though I cannot stretch anymore What do you think?
Amber- have you mentioned to shot to your doctor, or has he mentioned it to you? I'm not even dilated and my doctor made sure I got mine when I went in to L&D the other day. Might just be a precaution since we don't have a NICU at the hospital i'll be hoping to deliver at. he closest is almost 2hrs away... not sure how long by helicopter. That'd be quite a trip. I feel you with the getting around, although since I just went on bedrest i'm still feeling as though I should be up to just about everything. The belly is getting heavy and its been hard to get in and out of bed for a while. Good luck with everything! Hang on for just a little bit longer. I think keeping them in long enough is a challenge, but the real challenge probably comes once they are born!
thank you everyone I try to stay positive and keep in mind that I want healthy babies. It does get pretty rough sometimes though you just want it to be over and hold your babies. I hope that I make 37 weeks but If I have them earlier I just hope that they are not sent to the NICU.... I am unable to excersise I am on full bed rest and tell you the truth it is hard to get around most of the time not sure if it is the weight of the babies or just prior pregnancies.
I have nothad any steroid shots yet for lung maturity but I was given home terbutaline for the contractions did that help any of you that had twins? I had a singleton at almost 35 weeks no NICU but this is my first twin pregnancy.. My dr said that caucasian boys dont do as well as anyother nationality and sex. I really hope that it is not the case. I hope that if I only make a few more weeks and they come that theya re ok. Their health is important to me but everything scares me these days about premature labor.. thank you for all the words of wisdom and kindness it means alot
Just try to rest and lay on your left side. Drink lots of water too!!! I had the steroid shots for lung development at 28 weeks due to pre-term labor. I had a c-section at 36 weeks...neither my girl or boy went to NICU...the steroid shot did the trick!
With my boy twins - I was miserable 30-33 weeks. After that I changes my attitude. I walked 3-7 miles each day. It hurt my swollen legs and feet but I needed it mentally!
I delivered at exactly 35 weeks. No nicu
I feel the same way sometimes! I just want it to be over with, but then I think of those babies on monitors and with tubes and don't think I could bear to see mine that way, so I tell myself only weeks left! We've been waiting 32/33wks already, what is 4 or 5 more weeks? The last weeks always go slower though. Good luck! We're almost there!
Im not having twins...just a singleton but i wanted to give you tell you that i can imagine its hard but your def getting there! Most women carrying more then one dont usually get much more far then you are right now!! But i wanted to write and say that i think you and any other mom who is dealing with being pregnant with more then one right now...GREAT JOB!! haha i cannot imagine having twins! lol You can do it..just keep that in mind. Your doing awsome and tell yourself that everyday! Most women dont have to go through what you ladies are dealing with and have dealt with!! Good luck i hope you make it to 37 weeks like you want!! :)
