I'm not sure if the other women agree but I would say that labour pains are like sharp constipation pains. Only they don't pass when you go to the loo, they keep coming at regular intervals. I got sharp pains that took my breath away when I went into labour at 28 weeks and it turns out i'd been having them on and off since 24 weeks and my Midwife said they were BH.
The only time I've felt anything like them were when I was constipated after labour and recently over the last couple of weeks with an ectopic pregnancy.
Hi every1 thank you for your replys i had an ultrasound yesterday and both babies r head down so thats whats causing the pressure pains the doctor said it is a little early for them both 2 be head down cause im not due for another 14 and 1/2 wks but he is going to monitor me im back with him in 2 wks so we'll see what happens....I just hope this doesnt mean ill go into pre term labour....do you girls think i could?? xx
you might need to let your DR know I did have pains and cramping at 20 weeks and my Dr put me on some meds (Brethine) cause I was actually having mild contractions
a labor contraction is PAINFUL. a period cramp doesn't really describe it. it starts out as that but it intensifies.
the pressure can be normal. i had a lot of pressure and little cramping after 24 weeks. which was when i started to dialate. at 24 weeks i was 2 cm dialated and put on full bed rest. i went into labor at 34 weeks.
Hi. I am 21 wks pregnant with fraternal twins and I've been experiencing all kinds of pains and cramps for the last month or so. Here are the list of pains I have been feeling.
- uterus pressure from time to time
- cramps in the lower abdominal region
- backaches
- ribcage pain on left side
These pains come and go. I also have difficulty breathing, especially when I lie down, and after I eat.
My ob told me as long as the pains are not like menstrual cramps, then everything should be fine. If you get a lot of menstrual like cramps, it could mean that you are having uterine contractions, and you should notify your ob of it. Honestly speaking, I don't even know what a labor contraction jis supposed feels like.
