Vaginal delivery when secon baby is breech.....

1st
Hi all!  I am at 35 weeks and 3 days with twin boys, yeah!  I am wondering any stories of you who have had a succesful experience with delivering twins vaginally when the second baby is breech.  My first baby is heads down, and number 2 is lying transverse.  My doctor recommended that I deliver vaginally.  She says I will most likely not have any complications.  I am not sure when I'll have these guys, but so far am showing no signs of going into labor yet!  I am so happy I've made it this far, and hope to carry them on to week 38 (I think after that they have to induce).  Anyhow, I had my daughter (now 2) vaginally with no complications.  Any words of wisdom/advice to share?

My husbands aunt had twiins the second was breech, she had them both vaginally and that was 15-16 yrs ago...  I guess it is the doctors comfort level.  Yes it can be done, but will they do it this day in age when c sections are cnsidered a safer alternative.

Good luck my dear! They told me absolutely no way will I get to do natural :(... both of my children are transverse and haven't moved in over a month. With my daughter's position blocking everything... she is reclining from hip to hip with her butt sitting above the birth canal... my son sits transverse also from ribcage to ribcage facing opposite direction of his sister. Doctor says that baby A would be okay she thinks to come out if she flips but she is concerned with a 10% chance of baby B getting stuck they can't do a fast emergency c-section cause there is a lot of skin they have to cut through in a hurry to get to baby fast enough. She says that it can be the percentage above for neurological damage or fatality. She said those numbers were to high for her comfort based on the stuff I have been through already. I'm 28 weeks today!! Yay third trimester :D!!!

If you had your first child vaginally with no issues, and your first twin is head down, i also say go for it!  I would definitely try in your situation!

Unfortunately, my first twin was breech with a foot dangling down and the second twin was laying across also almost breech and then they came 8 weeks early - so all in all, it was too risky to try to deliver vaginally :(

my twin daughter were in the same position.  my doc gave me the choice she sad it was possible that one would come vaginally and then i could end up with a c-section for the second.  since i had a emergency c-section with my 1st baby i decided to just do the c-section this time.  they came at 33 weeks and were fine.  i can imagine anything worse then having a vaginally delivery for one and then a c-section for the section.  goodluck

i delivered both of my boys vaginally and up till i went to the OR to deliver them eli (my baby b) was breech. what my ob told me was as long as baby a is head down it's fine b/c after baby a is out they can manually flip baby b if need be. luckily for me after brett (my baby a) was out eli did a somersault and came on out head down.
