anyone have more info on twins?!

Just had my ultrasound and was informed im carrying twins! This is my first pregnancy and have no idea what to expect can anyone help?

I carried my twins to 36wks 2 days.  I went into labor, but both babies were transverse, (sideways) so I had to have a c section.  They want your babies to be over 5lbs at birth.  Mine weighted 5'11 and 5'14, they were both 18in.  
I had 0 morning sickness and had 0 symptoms till week 10.
I agained 29 lbs during my whole pregnancy.. I had no issues.

Drink a lot of water, 80oz's or more a day, and eat lots of protein!!!

Hi I am avin my second set of twins I wnt say to much but my first set was 3 months premature they r 10 in april all gd wiv them thank god and I am nw 19 weeks wiv this set more scans and midwives appts then I can cope wiv but tbh I find twins easier then singles they r nt ur shadow to toilet twins always have a friend I am sayin this bcoz I also have  5 yr old daughter she was my shadow lol but enjoy ur pregnancy it is amazing gl wiv everyone :) x

Thanks again just wanted to clear the air a bit they say twins are more risk so just wanted to make sure but im sure everything will be ok just waiting till they arrive now i guess.:) i like the twin strollers too so ill just focus on what they will need when they arrive. :)

You can call and your ob can look andvtell tou where the placenta is forming. At 9 weeks there is still a fetal pole so it should be clear on the ultrasound to the doctor. And ues you can take to many vitamins. Folic acid take as much as you like te morw the better but pills just do about 1600mg. If you are worried call your ob and ask what vitamin they want tou on. If you get sick from the prenatal vitamin try one without iron in it. Often the iron makes women sick. If you are ever worried about your babies call the ob. It is thier job to answer your questions. If the act like you shouldn't get a new ob. Twins can be scary and reading about twins online is like playing Russian roulette with your emotions. Also remember that for some god awful reason people think sharing horror stories about birth miscarriage twins is a good thing. Remember this
1st only one twin surviving is very very rare
2nd your babies are well protected inside of you. It is the safest place in the world.
3rd you do have to do everything perfect by some nonexistent book. Your babies will be fine
4th YOU are the mom and YOU know your body. If you think something is wrong or off go in to the ob or er.
5th All first time moms are scared and so 2nd 3rd ect.. moms you are supposed to be. It is instinct and it is a good thing

Thanks for the info thetwins14 yea i was feeling sick throughout the day but rarely throw up so my doctor gave me some nausea pills. But that made me constipated xp so im eating more apples and greens and took colace last night success this morning lol i feel so much better though thanks alliestwins. Yea this app says im underweight thats why i was curious gained about 4 pounds so far about week 9 now couple days from it with my starting weigh being 120. I think this sounds crazy but can you take to many vitamins? Like i have my sickness pills, the colace, prenatal vitimins, folic acid vitamins, and dha vitimins i feel like its too much but its all ok when pregnant so maybe im just over thinking it? My doctor didnt say anything about not lifting more than 15 pounds or not having sex so should i wait i go back in on the 20th to talk to him or what do you think? I havent had any spotting or pain but yea just want to make sure they are safe because not sure if one of them is where yours is or not, not sure how to tell by the ultrasound one is definitely one my left side but the second one is making me nervous.

I am already showing but my stomach was pretty flat before I got pregnant. Also I have a daughter already. Every twin pregnancy is different some woman find it easy other find it hard. Weight gain depends on you pre pregnancy weight. My limit is 40lb but i only weighed 116 before so they want expect me to put on more weight also. I already put on 12 lb all in my boobs. 25 lb is typical weight gain for a singleton and 30-45 lb for twins depending on your size. Your ob will help you figure it out. Ask as many questions as you like. I am a midwife (when not pregnant with twins lol) so i am used to questions. For me Twin A has its placenta over my cervix so I am stuck at home on modified bed rest and frankly bord and missing my patients.

I just had my boys yesterday!!!!! But I started showing around 16 weeks and I gained 43lbs carried until 37 weeks and had to be induced because they were getting so big they were starting to grow wrong because they didn't have the room. I had horrible morning sickness every day until around 30 weeks and then I developed bad constipation but other then that we had no issues and everyone is perfectly healthy and we all get to go home tomorrow. Its not that difficult its just like having one baby that's a little needy. Good luck momma!!!! Twins are a blessing and you're going to love everything about it.

Ok thanks for the info when did you start showing? What do you think would be a healthy weight gain in this situation? If im not asking to much that is. Ive been looking a lot up but new questions everyday right xp.

My mother in law was pregnant with twins and had a miscarriage with one but went full term with the other one and came one perfect when it was supposed to. Idk much about twins pregnancy my self. But I would just do a lot of research. I am pregnant now am about 9 weeks I have a 3 yr old and didn't have any symptoms with her but swollen feet at 7 months. With h this one my bobs been sore and very hot and already growing.  Even tho its my 2nd time pregnant it's all very new. I have my first appointment on the 20 of this month

Oh and twins often measure a day apart till about 12 weeks then the even out. So chances are they where conceived on the same day. It is rare for one twin to die and be reabsorbed that is more common with triplets or more so try not to think of that. Your gonna feel preasure at your cervix that is normal so don't freak out. Twins do werid things that singleton babies don't. Also spotting is more common with twins. As longs it is brownish blood (also called old blood)  and just a little don't freak just let your ob know. You will have round ligament pain earlier than most and back pain starts at about 12 weeks. I am now 14 weeks 5 days and look about 20 weeks. Both my twins are forward in the uterus making me stick out more.

Yes and you can take colace everyday. Also as werid as this sound orange juice and grape juice help spead up digestion and get the muscles moving. Make sure you are drinking lots of water add some lime or limon to it. If it gets really bad you dr can give you some clean out medicine. Do not take laxatives they can aause harmful cramps.

Separate sack and placentas are the best case scenario with twins. You need to askvyour doctor where the placentas are located because in twins it is common for 1 of the placentas to start out excluding the cervix. That would mean no sex and no lifting anything over 15 lb till your uterus stretches and it moves. With twins there is a gogh risk of early delivery or c section. However many woman can have natural births. It will depend on their positions later. You will have more pain with twins as everything is stretching faster. You will get more ultrasounds and have more vists to the ob. They really want you to deliver in a hospital with twins. Most birthing centers or homebirth midwives won't deliver twins outside of the hospital.

Oh ok cool yes they are a day apart so they have their on placentas. Im just dont know what to expect its my first pregnancy and i was told twins are a higher risk so just want to make sure everything is ok. Do you take prenatal vitimins and what dosage? Also i read that you can have one miscarriage and still give birth to the other one do you know if that's a possibility. Just want to make sure they are both healthy. I am 14 weeks pregnant with twins. Do they have separate sacks and placentas? You might feel sicker. When they get to about 12 weeks and do flips it feels like a wavve in you belly.
