10 weeks pregnant been bleeding for 3 days

have had bleeding (lke a brown discharge) for the past week. I went to my doctor who did a vaginal ultrasound and saw the sac but no baby. They want me to go back for more blood tests before they will know what's wrong. She said It could be as simple as I am not as far along as I thought and the bleeding she did'nt say anything about. I am feaking out. Has anyone else been through this?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI!
It sounds like you may have a blighted ovum.  This is VERY common and we don't know why it happens, but a sac forms and no baby.  Obviously this always ends in miscarriage.  Your doctor probably wants to test your HCG levels and your progesterone level to see if you are just too early to have a fetal pole yet.  If the pregnancy is normal, the HCG level should double every 48 hours, and the progesterone should be above 15.

If it does turn out to be a blighted ovum, you should ask about Cytotech, which is a medicine that speeds up a natural miscarriage so you can avoid surgery.

Hope you are just way early, and the above information is unneccessary.

Good luck!
