I'm not sure. I don't like either candidate and neither of them speak about the issues that are important to me (environment and special needs) so it's going to be a difficult decision for me.
I'm young and liberal so the obvious candidate for me is Obama.
i am worried too. i work in the human service field so of course i want a democrat because the republicans have destroyed our ecomony. but both canidates do scare me.
i wish obama would have chosen hillary as his runnign mate. i would feel so much better,
McCain.. 100%... I don't trust Obama OR his thug political background...
That's is all I am saying.. This will start a huge big debate for me..
I'm voting Obama. It's time for a change! I think Hillary against Sarah Palin would have been interesting, but it didn't happen.
I agree that the economy is scary!
What worries me the most is that both of them chose bad running mates. Are Palin or Bidin who we really want running our country if something should happen to McCain or Obama? Who they chose as their running mates says a lot about who they are themselves.
wow i'm just suppised that there is no fighting over the two canidates... lol
Obama here all the way!!!! It's time for a change!
im not sure, but so far i think i may go with obama!
i am honestly shocked to see mccains name in this only because we are all either expecting moms and/or already mothers and schooling and child servcices are though of way mroe by a democrat rather than a republican.
no arguments, i am just surprised.
the one thing that is nerve wracking like some said above, both running mates are awful and mccain is not the healthiest man in the world, can we really see palin stepping in. i always worry that mccain is going to have a heart attack during the debates.
I really don't know who I am going to vote yet for but my morals are definitely leaning towards McCain.
Also, something about Obama gives me a bad feeling, not sure what but I don't think I trust him.
I don't trust Sarah Palin.... somethings off with that women.. did you read some of the things about her? In Alaska she makes rape victims pay for their own trials.... And she has 0 experience so if soemthing does happen to McCain we are screwed! Thats a big decideing point for me Mccain screwed up when he picked Palin! So definatly Obama All the way!!! And Mccain wants to tax health care.. that is ridiculous = )
But I'm glad to see alot of diversity on this board thats wonderful
McCain all the way, my husband is in the Navy and Republicans are always better for us. Palin has just as much experience as Obama if not more, she is the commander and chief of the Alaska National Guard and has experience running a state that boarders shares a close water boarder with one contry and a land boarder with another. Obama has been a senator for only two years, so all he gets to do is have one out of two votes. The president becomes the commander and chief of our armed forces and Obama has zero experience with the military. It scares me so much that Obama wants to cut back on our weapons research, just because we do doesn't mean our enemies will. We are the biggest and the baddist because we've got the biggest and the baddist. If we stop our research how long will it be before we get passed up.
I'm young and more liberal in most of my view, but McCain is better for my family.
McCain all the way!
From Sunday's Televised "Meet the Press" Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag. Obama Explains National Anthem Stance…
Sun, 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. The General also stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, "Stand and Face It!" Senator Obama Live on Sunday states, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides, Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails. Perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. When I become President, I will seek a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation have placed upon the nations of Islam an unfair injustice. My wife disrespects the Flag for many personal reasons. Together she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past, many years ago. She has her views and I have mine". Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put aside my hatred. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new
path of hope. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America.
does anyone feel that the crisis and almost resession that the US is in that a Republican may not help try to get us out of it? everyday things are getting worse and worse. I am not sure if any of you have been affected yet. If so explain just to have this a little more fun:)
I am affected because i work in human services and run a group home for men with substance abuse and mental health diagnosis. well of course since we are in a state of crisis in the US, the first area that gets cut is mental health and mental retardation. therefor now my men have no day programs to assist them with leanring social skills and have things to do rather than go out and use drugs. all the day programs were cut due to the budget crisis.
i feel that a democrat, who is for the middle class, will help so that the programs that need to be there are still there and the big expensive rtizy things will be cut first. Many of the public schools are going to be affected next.
I was set on Obama... but my views are changing. I don't like either candidate and I think its a shame that our nation believes out of all the people in our country, these two are the best. Obama and McCain both scare me. I starting to believe more and more that Obama has plans to completely change our country as we know it today. One thing about McCain is that he is a bit war happy and that scares me not only because my DH is a Marine, but also because our country can't handle any more wars and our Troops and Marines can't handle it either.
I was informed yesterday about Obama's gun control plans... I have to admit I am working on getting my concealed carry permit and I am a deer hunter... I don't want to see these rights taken away and I/DH don't want to get prosecuted for defending our home if someone decides to break in.
I am leaning more and more towards McCain, and I am very democratic. I just don't know...
McCain plans to tax healthcare.. this is gonna cost the average family 1200 dollars a year.. now I don;t know about you but we can't afford 1200 a year plus our insurance premiums! No other president has EVER taxed healthcare HELL Australia and Canada have FREE healthcare we should be going in that direction not the opposite way and to be honest John McCain is George W Bush junior and I do not want another George Bush he is a flippen idiot! I would love to see Bill Clinton back in office = ] He was the best president we have had in years.. Obama does have liberal views but thats what we need CHANGE!!!!! I fear for my daughters future if Mccain/ Palin win...
