I'm scared is this normal?

For the past 3 days I feel like my heart is gonna beat out of my chest.  And it gets beating so hard I feel like it's in my throat.  And I have really bad headaches with it.  I haven't called my Dr yet but thought I'd ask if it's normal....

GOOD NEWS just got off the phone with my Drs nurse and she said as long as I don't have chest pains it's totally normal esp with twins.  She said when you're pregnant your heart actually grows and pumps more blood and with twins it grows that much more and pumps alot more blood.....so I'm ok.....and she said the headaches are normal too.

hey I just looked it up in my medical book and it said in pregnancy especially multiples it is common for heart rates to race and to have palpatations. There is so much extra blood in your body it makes your heart speed up to compensate :o) but id still call the doc to make sure... it said to place a cold wash rag on your face and to take long deep breaths when you feel it happening.

I don't think that your BP is high enough to be causing your head aches, and the fact that you think your heart rate is less than 120 is good....It could be just the pregnancy.....exacerbated by the fact that it is twins.  I was finaly sent to an ENT for unrelenting headaches that tylenol did nothing for.  They gave me some allergy nasal spray to use daily and it cleared up my headaches.

to be pre hyper tensive your blood pressure has to be over 140 and over 80  but if your blood pressure is normally low then the 139/79 could be considered high... I have been having headaches so bad i want to cry but nothing with my heart... i hear the headaches are normal but i think your heart rate isnt///

I don't think it's above 120 I thinks it's more of just pounding really hard....I don't know though and I had my FIL take my blood pressure last night and it was 130 over 79 he said he thought that was ok.  And I've been taking tylenol for my headaches but that doesn't work.

with the headaches it sounds like what i had with high blood pressure. It was "high" for most people but it was for me so she put me off work. But Nothing could stop the headaches

This same thing happened to me prior to being pregnant and when I was pregnant w/ my last one.  I actually went and saw a Cardiologist w/ this last pregnancy.  I was like 11 or 12 weeks along.  He did find something, but it was not life threatening.  He said the medicine would hurt the baby so I couldn't take it then.  My SIL also had this happen.  She went to a Cardiologist also but they didn't find anything.  I would call your doc.  It will make you feel better.  If it is causing headaches, it could have something to do w/ your blood pressure.  But I get a lot of headaches when I am pregnant.  Like sameerab said, it could also have something to do w/ your carrying twins.  I hope you are feeling better soon.

Yes, if you feel skips this are extrasystoles. You can make an consultation with your but don`t worry. I have them all the time. Maybe I should consult a cardiologist also. I have extrasysoles and when I`m not pregnant but know I fell the more often.

were you able to count a heart rate yet?  Feel for it on your neck or wrists and count for a full minute

your carrying twins and the heart has to work doubly hard just to support one fetus...so in your case i can see why your heart us beating like crazy...call your dr if you need reassurance but im sure its from carrying twins..

Can you count the heart rate when you feel those palpitations? During the pregnancy heart rate is between 90-100/min. Irregular rythm can also be detected ex.extrasystoles.  I have that feeling very often the I take my stetoscope and I can hear my heart rate is irregular with some extra beats = extrasystoles.
I haven`t made an ECG or make an cardiologic consultation yet. But if it is necessary the dr will prescribe you (calcium channel blocker).
Also tachycardia may be a result of anaemia.

I dont really think this is normal. I would call your doctor right away and go in and have them check you and the babies.  Were you doing anything physical when this happened?  i know i get like that when i have been doing somthing but not just sitting there ya know?  I am also 6 months prego and was kinda heavy to begin with........i hope you and the babies are ok.
