bassinet or playpen?

I'm wondering what's best to buy a bassinet of playpen.. it would stay upstairs and crib downstairs.. I just don't know which one would be better

I have all three (bassinet, pack &play and crib) the bassinet was a waist, she out grew it by 2 months, for the time being we are just using the pack&play (im not ready to have her sleep on her own yet), and it is working out perfectly.

Yeah, I was gonna say the one we bought for our 11 month old has an insert that makes it a bassinet that's the perfect height beside our bed. 11 months later, he uses the pack n play every day. Best investment we ever made!

Thank u ladies.. definitely did not know what to buy today with all the cute stuff they have at babiesrus I ended up not knowing and decided I'm going with hubby next time :) but I think I will buy the pack nd play

pack nd play. they last soo much longer. my three year old lIl bro still has his nd plays in it like its the greatest jungle gym on the planet lol.

I have a pack n play and a crib. It's portable and you can take It other places If the baby Is gonna be there. So I'd say playpen. =]

Playpen.  You can use it much longer and its easier to pack up and take somewhere overnight.  Definitely a playpen!
