Provera - Is it safe???

I have missed my last 2 periods and I am 74 days late. we hav been TTC since Jan this yr..
my HPTs and a blood test hav come negative. so the Doc said she wanted to induce periods and she prescribed Provera. want to knw if Provera is safe....just in case if i am actually pg.has anyone been in a situation like this????

No, she has not prescribed any fertility drug neither did she do any other tests besides pregnancy.she wants me to get a blood work done on the 3rd day of my period to test of any other problem and thats why had asked me to take Provera.....
but i have read in some case few women had all tests negative till they were 3-4 months pg. so just in case i am and i take Provera, would it affect my pregnancy???

If you had a blood test done and it was negative... chances are you are not pregnant. I have PCOS and went through a similar situation back in Jan. I took the provera, and then I also took clomid. Did they perscribe you any kind of fertility drug? Clomid didn't work for me... I had my last period on Feb 19 (thanks to the provera), and I still have yet to get it again. Did they do any kind of tests (besides pregnancy)?
