Bed rest

I was diagnosed with sub chorionic hemorrhage at 2 months pregnant, I have had 3 previous high risk pregnancies and a total of 4 miscarriages, I'm very nervous about this pregnancy. the type of bed rest I was ordered is light duty, but I feel it should be complete bed rest, if I am up for more than 1 hour I start bleeding bright red blood and my back hurts really bad, even if I'm only up 15 minutes at a time periodically through the day, I start bleeding bright red blood, but when I stay in bed and only get up to use the bathroom I don't see any bleeding, and I'm not in so much pain. I definitely need a second opinion in regards to how I feel my bed rest should be especially with a history of post partum hemorrhage, & hemorrhage with miscarriage I'm terrified of having another 1 and I don't feel my doctor is taking it as seriously as I would like her too. please tell me what you think

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would probably tell you that there is no data to support bedrest during pregnancy.  In other words, if you are going to miscarry, it will probably happen regardless of whether or not you are on bedrest.  Given your symptoms however, I would support complete bedrest until the bleeding stops.
Good luck!

I think u should follow ur motherly instincts. Even though ur dr has the degree, no one knows how u feel but u. Id say to do the best u can with complete bedrest and if itd make u feel better definitely get a second opinion. Good luck, i hope the best for u and baby.

I agree, if your doctor isn't making you feel like he/she cares. She someone else. Your high risk you should be seeing a fetal medicine specalist along with your on/gyn.  If you're not, ask your doc to refer you to one. I also am high risk, its difficult to do so but it is very important to try to stay calm, stress will make you miscarry. It's also difficult because its out of your control. I wish you nothing but the best.

This is very true about if it is going to happen, it will happen but I would also get a different doctor. YOU have a choice in who provides care for you. Take it from someone who regrets not changing OB when she should've. Your doctor should deffinately take you seriously.
