PLEASE use care if you go online to buy, sell, or trade anything. ALWAYS take a second person with you. Never go inside someones home. Be sure others know EXACTLY where you will be, and arrange to call a friend or family member while you are gone. Instruct them what to do (ie, call the police) if you don't call.

Wow peek....soooo scary! My DH and I have actually been looking for a refrigerator on craigslist. But we are doing it together, not me by myself. We will be certain to be careful though and thanks for letting us know. I thought all this craiglist craziness was over. I thought they had caught this guy. I mean we always need to use caution but I just thought the guy had been caught. Or is this someone else??

I was just reading about this in the child and baby part of my local craigslist, someone was nice enough to post and let everyone else know about it. how sad for this girl and her family. She was in her third trimester..and was just looking for a deal. I use craigslist often, but i NEVER go alone and I ALWAYS go to a public place. Its scary. There are some messed up people out there!

Peek, i read this at cnn.com, and it is scary out there. There are women who are desperate for babies and they can go to any extent to get one. don't understand why women have to use craigslist or anything like this to get used cloths? If you go to baby's outlet stores like carters and oskosh you get new baby clothes at great deals. As far as furniture goes, I can understand but you have to be very cautious. Never go alone and meet at public places.
I have only ever bought one thing off of craigslist and that was 2 years ago. I took my mom with me to a lady's house to buy a pump. She only lived 5 min. from my mother and I would never go alone. My hubby is leary of craigslist and if we buy anything else, he will be going with me. People over the internet (or anyone for that matter) cannot be trusted. It's scary how people think these days!!
Its so sad how many people out there are willing to hurt one another...Thanks for sharing this story and hopefully people will start to be more careful!!

that is crazy!!! i was and still am terrified of people like that! how can someone be so desperate that you would kill a woman and try to steal her unborn child??
my mom actually told me a story about something similar to this. it was happening after i was born and she never feared for her life while she was pregnant. but when i was between the ages of 2-4 there was a team of people (from what she remembers there was 2 men and a woman) in a white van that had no windows kidnapping blonde haired, blue eyed little girls (2 had gone missing from our area) well i was a blonde haired, blue eyed little girl. my mom said she was so paranoid about me playing outside during the day alone. well luckily for us our yard and our neighbors yard was fenced in together (the house we rented was one of theirs) and they had a HUGE dog. freddie. he was a good, good, good, good dog. he was very territorial and protected both his and our families. well one day i guess a white van stopped in front our our yard when i was playing and a man got out and started to approach me (i don't remember any of this...my mom told me about it when that little girl went missing, the one whose mother i guess is now on trial for her murder) when freddie jumped off his porch and went barreling after this man as he started to come into the yard. he jumped on top of him and bit him. well the guy got away and the van sped off. my mom was in the kitchen and saw the van. by time she got outside freddie had the guy down. i think they caught the people who were doing this a few weeks later. we don't know if that was them or not but my mom never left me out of her site for even a second after that.

Im in the uk so i've not heard of this craigelist but this has got to be one of the worst story i've ever heard.
I saw that story on the news last night- so sad! I have used craigslist many times- but I am very careful! So sad!
OT but also on craigslist this guy went to jail for posting an ad saying that he wanted someone to rape his wife and someone responded to the ad and actually raped his wife. The husband is in jail but as far as I know they haven't caught the guy that actually did it. I live in north carolina so i don't know if you guys have heard about that or not. people are sick out here
