Why? and to test or not to test?

Ok, so I am a mommy of 2 hoping for our third.  With both of my children I did not take a positive test until I was 2 months pregnant.  Although I took many tests, home and doctor,  all said negative when indeed I was pregnant.  My question is a 2 part question.
Question 1:
Why is this? How come I kept having negative tests for so long?

Question 2:
I am now 2 weeks late and took a negative test last week. Should I continue to keep taking tests until i either start or get a positive, or shoud I just wait until I reach the 2 month mark to start testing again.

Thank you for your time

I get really giddy about it and cant wait to take tests so i can see  where your frustration is with that. I too think I might be pregnant but I don't wanna test until friday (thats when im supposed to start) cause I've taken so many tests in the past. If I were you  I'd just go to the dollar store and buy a lot from there and take one every morning. instead of buying like $15 ones. The dr said to me that they are more sensitive anyways. GOOD LUCK :)

In some women, it takes much longer for the hormone to build up. Every pregnancy can be and is usually different so I would test again and if it's negative to get a blood test done. If indeed you are pregnant and you decide to wait that long, I would suggest taking prenatals which you can get over the counter until you see your doctor.
