FTM 36 weeks: Dialation checks?

I just started seeing my Dr once a week. My baby boy will be here in 4 weeks! When did you mommy's start getting checked? Should I expect it to be a regular thing? Thanks (:

I got checked this morning for the first time actually. I'm at about 36.5 weeks because of scheduling issues with the office. (The available time slots just never work out for us.) I think she mostly checked because I am going for a VBAC and if I am not dilated by 41 weeks it will have to be another csection.
Even though I am not currently dilated, my cervix is very thin and a month should be an ample amount of time to at least start to dilate.
Good luck to all of you ladies!

My doctor would've started at my 35 week appointment but he had to deliver a baby so he started at my 36 week appointment.
