pregnant and confused

I will be as brief as possible, I am now 8weeks6days pregnant.  This is my 4th pregnancy.  I have 2 kids, and I had one missed miscarriage at 10wks, that resulted in a D&E 1/06.  I am confused because I am getting such mixed messages from the doctors office.  First off I don't feel pregnant, I have horrible cramps that sometimes bring me to tears, I have passed a clot and tons of mucous, and some blood, one episode of bright red bleeding for 1 hour.  I have a 3 u/s, the first it was at 6wks, fetal heart rate 30 and irregular shaped sac.  Second one at 7wks1day, fetal heart rate 140 and a smiley face shaped sac.  Third u/s 8wks2d, fetal heart rate 164 and very small sac, its really tight around the fetus.  I just keep getting mixed messages from the doctors and want to know if this all looks like a good pregnancy or not, my only symptom is no period, and obviously I have seen the baby.  Some doctors say its 50/50 if I will miscarry or not and some say it all looks good.  I just don't know what to think when my body and mind keep telling me its going to end up as miscarrage.  Oh and I had hcg levels done 48hrs apart and they were 3908 and 5901 and that was at 5weeks.  Thanks so much for your help.

Well my appointment went pretty well.  I am measuring a little smaller but who knows why, the doctor said I should be 10weeks 2days today but my uterus is measuring between 8 and 9 weeks, I figured with 2 kids already it should be pretty used to stretching out.  She didn't seem too concerned.  We were able to hear the heart beat it was 167 and then she said as long as its not above 170 its fine, I am a little concerned as to why she would say something like that but I guess its now just a waiting game until the NT u/s and then I think we are in the clear.  Thanks to Dr. Downing for the advice and to babyHardiman for the encouragement.

Hello,

It is very reassuring you have a visible embryo with a fetal heart rate in the normal range.  Having achieved this decreases the miscarriage rate substantially.  However, it is still early so there are no guarantees, but I would echo the advice above, and you'll see how things are on the 3rd.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

Thanks for the encouragement, wow, that is amazing that you are "doubly" blessed.  Congrats to you too.  I have an appointment on the 3rd so I am just going to wait it out and see what they say.  Hopefully everything is just fine.  I just wish I had some symptoms like I did with my other 2 kids, oh well like everyone says each pregnancy is different.  Thanks again and sorry it took so long to get back to you, I have just been super busy.

Hi there.  I have read hundreds of articles by many doctors saying that it is normal to feel like you are going to start your period.  Wiht the heart rate and HCG levels rising as they are, I do not think you need to worry.  Have you heard "What you think about, you bring about"?  This happens to me ALL the time.  I am 4 days behind you =) and I feel some of the same symptoms.  I will be having my first ultrasound tomorrow and I am terrified ... I have had a miscarriage at 9 weeks, so I know the horror you are feeling.  Remember that we can't put our bodies in more stress than they already are.  I too past clots and mucous right after my papsmear and the cramps were a little worse but I've read that is normal as well.  Of course I have two uterus and two cervices so it was a little difficult for my midwife to "grab" a hold to the second cervix but ... the pains of being doubly blessed  =)  Don't put your baby or your body under anymore stress than it already is, relax.  I am sorry for your pain but I've heard that every pregnancy is different that not one is really the same as the other.  Maybe if you thought back on your other two, you would see that.  =)  I hope you are feeling better soon!

I forgot to mention I have been running a low grade fever for the past 24hours, not higher than 101, and with my other 3 pregnanies I knew I was pregnant, not with this one, I just kept thinking I was going to get my period.  Thanks again.
