HCG levels

I have a question regarding HCG levels. A little history about me, I am 40 years old,G10 P 4 (2 of the pregnancies I was pregnant with twins and lost one) breastfeeding my 2 year old 4-5 times a day. My LMP was 12/13/2007, I had a positive HPT on 1/13/2008. Due to my age, my primary Dr wanted to do a bHCG on 1/17/08 which was 408, with a repeat done on 1/21 and that one was 830 (these were both 4pm draws), she in turn called my referred OB and I was called to have another bHCG done at 9am at a different lab on 1/24/08 and this one was 1345. I am now scheduled for a repeat bHCG on 1/28 and an ultrasound on 1/31.
I understand that HCG levels should double anywhere from 2-4 days, and my levels do not seem to be doing this.
Should I prepare for another miscarriage? Could this be a viable pregnancy?
Any thoughts would be helpful, I have only been able to speak to the nurse at the OB's office so far.
Thank you so much.
be well
Lori

I think you couls be okay.. I am hoping you saw your little bean and that precious heartbeat! If you did see the heartbeat, HCg levels don't mean anything anymore they will go by the u/s. Good luck I hope it went well for you!

I had my first level tested at 11,500 yesterday for what should be 9 weeks & 1 day pregnant. Isn't that level a little bit low? I am 44 years old. I have another appointment & 1st ultrasound tomorrow. The nurse practitioner said it's in the normal range, but the charts I've seen start at 25,700 for 9 weeks. Just curious.
