I'm pregnant with no real symptoms...should I be worried?

I am pregnant and I found out a week ago.  My husband and I are very excited.  My concern is that I don't have any real symptoms of pregnancy.  My breasts don't hurt and I don't feel sick at all.  I do frequently use the restroom, but I am also drinking way more water than before.  I am exhausted, but I'm normally pretty tired.  I miscarried in August at 5 weeks, but with that pregnancy I had extremely sore nipples and was bloated to the point that I couldn't button my pants. I am nervous about this pregnancy.  Is it normal for every pregnancy to be completely different? This will be our first child.  Should I be worried that I'm not sick or sore at about 5 and a half weeks?  Thank you!

Yes every pregnancy will differ. And the hormone surge occurs at around 6 wks so that is when most  who are going to feel pregnant- will really feel "pregnant". Consider yourself lucky if you don't. As for the spotting. Did you have intercourse prior to the bleeding? Call your doctor ASAP. And do not have Intercourse until u see the MD.  She or He will likely do an ultrasound to rule out a sub chorionic bleed. Don't be alarmed. It is possible to have one and continue a normal pregnancy. It simply means there is a pocket of blood between the sac and the uterus. I had one and had a healthy pregnancy. However, the doctor will need to put u on prometrium. It's progesterone that helps maintain the lining stable until the placenta takes over. And that happens at about 12 weeks. Also at 12 wks the risk of miscarriage drops significantly. I recommend not telling ppl you're pregnant until then as well. To preven heartache of ppl asking questions, should this pregnancy fail. Also, know that miscarriage happens to a lot more frequently than ppl realize. Most ppl just "had a late period" or "a heavy cycle this month" an dont even realize they were pregnant. If you do miscarry again. Ask for the lab work up if not offered. There is a series of labs that can help rule out metabolic and antibodies that may contribute to pregnancy loss. ALSO... Know there is nothing u can do wrong to cause a miscarriage. Best wishes. Hope this helps.

Hey,

I would recommend a few things.

1. Blood tests are a great idea for any disorders.
2. Make sure your uterus is in good shape.
3. If you happen to get pregnant again, take extra progesterone. You can get this prescribed to you and it costs about $30 for a month. This is the pregnancy hormone. Let your body know... hey im f****** pregnant!
4. Rest if you get pregnant again... dont walk around, lift stuff, stress. Wear loose fitting cotton pants and chill until the fetus is more stable in your body. Maybe you should be in bed for the pregnancy, I donno.

Sorry to hear about your pregnancys. It seems people who try not to have kids have no problems, and people who really want them have a harder time.

Well I got some bad news before Christmas.  As it turns out I didn't have any pregnancy symptoms because when I went in for my 8 week appointment I was only 3 weeks along.  I miscarried again and had a D&C.  I'm upset I miscarried, but I am more worried that my body is the cause.  I am 25 years old and I don't smoke or drink.  I take a vitamin everyday and I do exercise.  I am 5'4 and 120 lbs so I am a relatively small person.  Since this is #2 I will be going in for some tests in 6 weeks to see if I have a blood clotting disorder that would be causing this.  I am concerned because I feel like I am doing everything I can to make my body a safe "house" for a baby and it's just not working out.  I am going to remain hopeful because I still have plenty of time on my biological clock to have a child.  Any advice is appreciated!!  Thanks for the support!!

Hi!
You are absolutely correct that each pregnancy is different.  I never had symptoms with mine until week 7.  I remember even hoping that I might not and then, boom the nausea set in.  Many people have no symptoms at all, so not to worry!
Good luck!

Thank you!  I went in for blood work and I was told my progesterone is low.  I am now taking some natural progesterone pills to make up for my ovaries not producing enough of it.  I may still be miscarrying.  I have slight cramps now and my legs ache pretty badly.  I won't know for sure until Monday what's going on.  I am a little discouraged, but atleast I know now that there is a pill that can possibly help me for my next pregnancy.  I won't tell anyone I'm pregnant until around 14 weeks.  Thanks for your help and advice Pyo432 it's greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm 5 weeks 5 days from LMP but, I've no early pregnancy symptoms and I did 4 hpt on 39th, 36th, 32nd and 31st day from LMP but all came negative. I've irregular periods because of hypothyroidism from july, 2010 and now I'm taking levothyroxine(50mcg) for my hypothyroidism and it came normal in October 2010. Then I'm TTC from December 15th 2010.
My thyroid came to normal level but my glucose level just elevated to high border. If i cross border level of glucose then I may become type 2 diabetic patient. I just totally confused.........

When can I book an appointment to my OB?
Is this right time to book an appointment?
How many days I'll wait to confirm my pregnancy through HPT?
When I'll do HPT to get positive result of my pregnancy?
Am I pregnant?

Thanks

Thank you!  I currently have a full bottle of prometrium the doctor prescribed for my last pregnancy.  I think my doctor wants me to take that when we start trying again.  I'm hoping that third times a charm.  My doctor told me I cannot do major tests until I miscarry three times in a row, but for now he can test for basic disorders.  I like to think that it's atleast a good sign that I can get pregnant.  I know many women that struggle with being able to concieve.  And I completely agree with you...women that really want children seem to struggle the most.  I appreciate your advice so thank you again!!

I've had 2 pregnancies.  2 miscarriages.  With my pregnancies I had no symptoms.  With my miscarriages I had swollen breasts and fatigue.  Go figure.  Every pregnancy is different.  Don't worry about it.

Yup each pregnancy is very different...Last time I was pregnant (12 WEEKS last month i miscarried) but i did go 10 weeks strong, with a strong heartbeat. the rest went down hill i guess, (because of carbon monoxide poisoning), at first i had no symptoms at all until about 6 weeks. Then i had intense nausua 24/7 no vomiting, horrible hurting breast. Also an intense attitude, which is totally not me....so it can be either way, you might have none at first, but as the hormones rise, im pretty sure you will see some definate changes...Its all a big ol 9 month waiting game.

On 1/1/2011 I was using the restroom, trying to do the #2. I didn't want to push and I didn't feel anything fall out of my vagina area, but when I looked in the commode there was something the color of my finger and it looked like a small tadpole. I have not bleed, just spotting and cramping. When I push on my belly it is not hard. Did I have a miscarriage?
