I'm not sure what to do from experience because i didn't have morning sickness or HG, but an acqantince(sp) said raw veggies worked for her like califlower, broccoli(sp), and carrots but everyone is different! hope you get to feeling better soon =]
Ok I know this may sound weird but have you tried eating baked pototoes?? They are very good for you and you can et them a million diffrent ways. They are bland enough for an upset tummy plus they might help you but on some pounds as they are a starch. You can always make up a bunch and put them in the fridge on hand when ever you want something healthy and satsifying
I was sick and throwing up the ENTIRE time I was pregnant....(I was never diagnosed with HG though). The things that worked for me were peanut butter sandwiches, mashed potatoes, string cheese, fresh turkey slices, cottage cheese and milkshakes.
All pretty bland things. I too switched to Flinstones vitamins...as they were the ONLY wons that wouldn't send me to the bathroom!
To add to Nikko's comment, I switched to Flinestones vitamins too, per my doctor's suggestion. They are much easier to tolerate than the PrimaCare One's i was taking prior to conceiving and during the first 5 weeks. You may want to consider doing the same...
I have been eating lunchables for lunch and cereal for breakfast and dinner. My favorite cereals are: Special K Red Berries, Quaker Oatmeal Crunch, and Life. I have noticed that I have been drinking alot more milk lately. I also switched from the prenate elite vitamins to flinestone chewables. This seems to have helped as well.
Sorry to hear you've been so sick. :( I had HG for the first 18 weeks and lost a lot of weight... There was a time when I literally went days without eating, because everything repulsed me and nothing would stay down even if I tried. None of the "traditional" remedies worked for me either. Once I got past the worst points, the only things I could handle were Yoplait cherry flavored yogurt, mashed potatoes, Ritz crackers, dry cereal (I liked Kix, Quaker Oatmeal Squares, and honey nut Cheerios), and canned pears & peaches. For some reason I really liked cottage cheese, too, and it is incredibly good for you. If you get the full-fat kind it will help you put back the weight too, which is important. Homemade milkshakes would sometimes sit well w/me too (use plenty of milk in them to get lots of calcium & protein, and berries &/or bananas for vitamins if you can). Hope this helps...... Really you just have to try different things and you'll find what works for you; everyone is different. And drink all the water you can possibly stand - being hydrated helps a lot.
Again, I'm so sorry you've been having to deal w/more than the average amount of sickness. I can tell you from experience that it WILL get better. For me I started feeling an improvement at 18 weeks and felt officially better around 20 weeks (which is also when I felt my first baby movements!).... hang in there! The very best part of your pregnancy is just around the bend. :)
I'm w/ Gina on the crackers and I am also a big fan of potato chips.. Hope you feel better soon!
I'm 11 weeks and for a while I was also having the hardest time eating! So the only foods that I could get down that didn't upset my stomach or make me want to hurl were Ritz Crackers filled with cheese (you can buy them in a pack) the crackers always settled my stomach and you're getting calcium from the cheese. And also they makes tons of 100 Calorie breakfast bars that are normally filled with protein and other nutritional things. The last thing was Graham Crackers...for some reason they always made me feel better. Good Luck, hope you start feeling better!
