I guess braxton hicks can be painful. My daughter has been having painful ones too. As long as you're not dilated, not bleeding and not having contractions that are not letting up and getting closer and stronger I'm not sure there's much you can do. :(
If you get more than 6 contractions in an hour, though, do go back in. Try and relax and take it easy as much as possible. I know you work but you're probably getting them more the more you move around so do try to put your feet up and rest as much as possible. Keep drinking water and resting when you can. Maybe a warm bath might help tonight? I hope you feel better soon. *Hugs*
Thank your ladies. I took a nap and it still hurts. The pain comes and goes. I wonder what this is. If these are BH then I'm pretty much running out of luck because they are painful, and being this uncomfortable at work is not fun :-(
Stupid contractions. I've been having them since my 22nd week....and they HURT!
I'm glad all turned out well, PK! That little one still needs to cook some more. :) Tell him to stop being so anxious to enter the world! He needs to stay all nice and cozy where he's at. :)
I agree with the others, put your feet up as much as you can and drink lots of water. My daughter's been having more painful cramping and contractions these last few weeks too, plus swelling in her feet and legs. Fortunately, she only has a few weeks left to go.
We'll just pray these babies don't come till they're meant to come and that you Mommies will get some relief and rest. :) Bless you, my friend. Take care of little peanut! Can't wait to see him but not too soon! I pray the time goes swiftly for you and my daughter. *Hugs*
I hope I didn't freak you out with my situation! I am so happy you are not dialating and the contractions are not making progress. Always better safe then sorry, I told my doc she better be ready for me to annoy the heck out of her with phone calls...lol I posted some shower pics by the way.
I know they say braxton hicks aren't painful...but in my experience they CAN be. it really just depends on the woman. The fact that your cervix is closed is a good sign. Just do like she said and stay hydrated. Not enough fluids can bring on BH and can make them very uncomfortable. Too much exertion can cause them as well. Good luck!
Thanks Ladies...I appreciate the support.
She sent me home and wants to see me in a week. I am having contractions but my cervix is still closed. I thought about the possibility of it being BH but I was under the impression that BH were not painful. I told her about my stupid round ligament pain but she said this wasn't it. She hooked me up to a fetal heart rate monitor, or something like that, to count my contractions. Since I'm not dilating, what she'll do is she'll see me in a week because I still have lower abdominal pain. Told me to drink plenty of water and to stay off my feet. She really doesn't want me to go to work these last three months.
Hi! we are due really close ot the same time (I'm due on the 27th of Aug) I have been having contractions on and of too, but mine havn't really been doing anything significant to throw me all the way into labor. I hope yours are just a pain and not triggering labor either. my first baby was born at 28 weeks which is scary, but they actually have pretty good chances these days. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you and your baby! keep us updated!
good luck...please let us know what happens....hopefully its not the real contractions yet
Hey! I hope that it is just braxton hicks contractions and I have been having then for the about the last 6 weeks and they are painful and I would think that they are real if I didn't know better =) I hope that you are just experiencing the same thing! Good luck honey!
It could be just braxton hicks, we'll hope that's what it is. PLease let us know what the doc says!
