I heard mine at 12 weeks.. In Australia we have websites which rent out dopplers to you for a month at a time for about $50au, maybe look into whether or not they offer something similar in your area? Google is your best bet to find out x

That's not healthy, what if something was wrong.. idk. Maybe their free healthcare has something to do with it. I don't pay for mine, but even then at the er they check immediately. Never been to Ireland or Canada. Just America.. so idk how it's done. Kinda interesting.

ya i find that weird too that they dont check earlier? it really isnt time consuming, it takes seconds to find and hear... and thats the main perk of going to my Drs appointments... that really *****, i wonder what thats about?   id buy one too if that was the case... you can always sell it after your done so you wont be out of too much money... but search the product first for good reviews as the home ones dont have to be up to the same standards as the hospital ones so some are cheap for a reason...

Also, if you do get a doppler you do not need to purchase ultrasound gel. Aloe Vera gel works just as good and a lot cheaper.

The angel sound on eBay is only £20! And worked with me from 16 weeks with an antirior placenta and being over weight.

In America we can hear them a. Early as 8 weeks when we go in for a check up. I heard my son at 9 weeks. So he's feeding you crap.. I'm sure your baby is beautiful and fine with a strong heart beat!

eBay has the Pocket Fetal Doppler for about $60 bucks..you will have to get EXTRA gel for it.

Nope, I'm 19 wks, got my detailed scan tomorrow though! It is quite cool hearing the heartbeat, but once you feel regular movements the worry about all being ok subsides, this is my 3rd and I never worried about the other 2 after I felt them, this one I've started to feel but only now and again, hopefully tomorrow will put my mind at rest and the next few weeks I should feel it more...x

I'm in Canada and we don't pay for heathcare either. My OB started trying for the heartbeat at about 12 weeks. If you look online you can get used dopplers for pretty cheap

I've been told by my midwife they'll check heartbeat at 22wks on. I'm in the uk too. We dont get as many checks as the other girls on here...but we dont pay for our healthcare....I found a doppler for use at home in the argos catalogue for only 25 quid or so too...x
