I'm back home after surgery!
Well ladies I lived! I went into surgery at 12:10 pm on Tuesday after my doctor showed up late. And I got a nice little cocktail of stuff that makes you loopy so you can relax before going under...not that I remember going under at all...Excuse me if I make any typoes because I just took some pain pills not too long ago and its starting to KICK IN! lol Well my surgery completely s*ucked! I woke up in recovery in a lot of pain...all I could mutter was "pain...pain.." and I was there for about 45 minutes until they wheeled me into my room with all of my family right behind me. The experience right before the surgery really hurt....emotionally. I felt so scared I wouldn't let steven leave my side. I would grab onto him and just start tearing up...I made him cry right as they told my family I had to go. I hugged everyone, but held onto him the longest and as he pulled away he had tears in his eyes and his face was red..which made me cry more. Anyways...I woke up in my room and got my pain meds...they put those wraps around my legs and turned them on. They started squeezing my legs so they wouldn't clot...lets just say I had bug bites on my legs and I get really itchy on opiates...my legs were soooo itchy..and the machine was loud and kept making a weird clicking noise. They gave me some broth and jello for dinner...which I only ate half of the jello...then they started me on actual pills instead of the morphine injections. I got up at about 10:30 to take a walk...about 50 feet then back...boy was I hurting! Then after that I finally let my boyfriend leave...I wanted him to stay but he didn't feel good. So after he left, me and mom tried to get some sleep but those leg things kept me up...And after my meds I felt so out of it, but the leg things would not let me sleep.
So my nurse came in at about 5 am to give me more pain meds and get me up to walk. So she did that and I got to get the leg things off for a few which was nice but only while I walked. Layed back down and my dr came in and ripped off my bandages...wasn't too nice with them...I felt like he ripped some skin off and I checked after, and he had indeed ripped my skin. My incision is in the middle, just under my waist line...about 5 inches in size, no stitches or staples, just tape and glue. I was in a world of pain after the bandages came off...I had to get up and have my catheter out...then try and pee on my own. I was crying the whole time because it hurt to relax to pee! They had just given me ibuprophen and two percocets...but it wasnt helping and I was crying in pain which was making my pain worse...so she came in and injected me with demoral...Not even 5 seconds later and I was loopy, but pain free. I immediately became very puffy and itchy, must have been allergic to the demoral. My face got all blotchy and red like someone had punched me in the eye. But my dr okay the leg things to come off and the iv out. So I was in much better spirits after that. They allowed me to leave at 1pm yesterday and I have been okay ever since...Except for the fact I haven't had a bowel movement...lots of gas but nothing else! And its thursday so its been about 3 days...my mom actually just delivered me some dulcolax stool softener...we'll try that and see how it works...still in pain and disabled, but so glad to be home...and its so nice to be waited on hand n foot! thanks for all the prayers ladies...I tried to get on my blackberry to post in the hospital but for some reason it was rejecting my ID and password...but here I am updating you now! thanks again ladies...better get some rest before I fall asleep on my laptop!

thanks everyone..still in pain and pretty immobile. Lets just say I am in love with paid meds and ice compacts! lol I get this burning feeling which I am betting is my ovary and that hurts more then anything. Only when I move a lot and am not keeping myself as still as I should ya know? I am watching the movie Vantage Point right now...pretty good. I just wish BF was here with me because he had switched his schedule to work only during the evening while my mom is home. I miss his company! Anyways! I guess I will go back to being at rest! Thanks for all the happy thoughts and warm comments! I will update again soon
Jame- Glad to hear everything went ok (besides the pain part.. That sounds terrible!) But Im glad your home and recovering! When I had my first D&C they put me on tylenol 3 afterwards and I did not have a BM for like.. a week.. and it just made the cramping 100 times worse.. so it could be the pain meds.. Try drinking a lot of juice and eating lots of fruit.. Well just eating enough in general will make something come soon.. I wasn't eating much at all after my D&C because I was feeling so crappy and had no one home with me so I pretty much slept all day.. On the 6th day after my D&C my grandma picked me up and brought me to her house and bought me grape juice and fed me a lot of food and the next morning I FINALLY had a BM and felt MUCH better.. Well I hope that you fully recover soon!
still no bowel movement...gah...this can't be good! I haven't had a bm since monday and its friday...I wonder whats up...doc says it could be the pain meds..I just want some relief!
Oh of course...I forgot to say what it was and how it went! lol I was all goofy from my meds. I had a teratoma removed from my right ovary. The surgery went well and I got to keep my ovary thankfully. Thanks for the prayers hun...I am so glad to be home! Now if only I could get my bowels moving!
Im very happy and thankful your surgery went well. Please exscuse my ignorance but what was the surgery for if you don't mind me asking? Anywho go get some rest as im sure you need it, and I know you very well deserve it. You will be in my prayers for a very quick and painless recovery!
