I agree. Wait. I hate it when soca are quick to end a pregnancy. It's yours not thiers.
It is wise to wait. They cannot force you to do/take anything.
Whenever there is any uncertainly it is a good idea to wait. That said, from what you have said you need to be prepared for the worst. While cramps and pain are normal, and conception can occur at a later date than expected, it is not a good sign that over the course of a week the gestational sac has grown from a measured age of 5.5 weeks to 6-7 weeks but a fetal pole was not observed (this starts to form during week 5).
I agree, I think they are jumping the gun on things. Cramping and pains are normal. I would wait it out too. Good luck!
I would WAIT and see what happens not next week but in a few weeks. My doc REFUSES to even give an ultrasound until aprox 12 to avoid this stress that you are going through. I would DEFINITELY not make any drastic decisions to terminate this pregnancy and at a 5-6 week ultrasound I think the docs are ABSURD to even offer that to you. With my last pregnancy, my hubby and I went in at 5 weeks and they saw nothing, then told me to return the next week and we did and got a heartbeat. Unfortunately it did end in a miscarriage but this does not mean yours will. You will see all over this forum that DUMB DOCS have put sooo many women through unnecessary stress for giving early ultrasounds. The other thing I would like to say is that docs in the ER do not specialize in pregnancy and many have little knowledge about it. This is my personal experience with my last miscarriage. Many ER docs do not even know how to give a proper ultrasound. Find a good OB and start to see them about this. Good luck. I hope this all works out for the best. Stay Hopeful! Hugs!
