any who had an episotomy, how long did it take for your stiches to heal & how long till you had sex after ward? & does it feel diffrent? I had one a week ago with my son and my stiches are feeling better but my discharge papers say wait 14 days for sexual activity. that's all it says so I'm wondering when will it be okay and comfotable to have sex?

I had one with my 2nd. Very painful took longer to recover then with my first daughter ( I wasn't cut with her). You should wait until you have stopped bleeding and are healed.

Oh okay thanks girl *& idk my doctor didn't tell me anything during labor he only stiched me up n said congratalions n left. My moms the one who saw them cut me n told me he gave me an eposotomy.But some days I'm not bleeding n other days I'm bleeding.

I've had an episitomy with both of my kids with my daughter I had a level 3 episitomy (very painful) tried after only 3 weeks horrible mistake bled an tore the stitches ..with my son I tore a little bit during delivery an had to get a few stitches but nothing major waited a month an everything was fine ...bottom line is you're going to feel a lil sore an you might even spot a little bit kegels will help with your pelvic floor muscles they're fantastic to do but u need to wait I would say at least 4 weeks ...how bad was your episitomy?? Are u still bleeding ?? I waited for the bleeding to stop because it means your uterous is still healing .when the lochia/discharge turns yellowish/white it means you are almost healed inside ..bottom line don't rush it :)

Mine felt like that too on and off! It'll stop eventually :) I just took some ibuprofen like the girl above said

Yeah mine was like that too, not all the time tho, but ibuprofen can help with the swelling, like the 800mg ones they give u, but I always cut it up or crushed it and put in yogurt cuz I hate taking pills lol or if u have ibuprofen, the small ones, they are 200mg each so u can take up to 4 of those, that's what I did but after the first week the swelling stopped for me, it is normal tho, but if it keeps on and on I would ask the doctor just to make sure

Really that's good. Did ur vagina feel sore while ur stiches were healing? Sorry tmi lol mine feels sore like the lips of it and inside , is that normal?

I had one with my first, it took about 2-3 weeks for my stitches to heal and I started having sex at the 4th week, it felt s lil uncomfortable the first time or 2 but it didn't hurt, then after that it felt fine, actually better in my opinion, than before I got preg, it was tighter on the outside at first but after s couple times it was fine

that's what I was thinking to but alls my doctor said was make a follow up appointment in 6 weeks he didn't say anything about sexual activity..just on my discharge papers it says wait 14 days for sexual activity..& really how was sex like after u healed n when did u heal all the way ;?

I had sex 4 weeks after and I don't recommend it. I started bleeding and it did hurt. It was veerryy tight. Be careful! Id say two weeks us definitely not long enough. You'll probably still be bleeding too
