HCG Levels

Hi!!

I had my pregnancy blood test done on 6/13/09 after 9 days of ET.  The result was hcg level 3, progesterone at 20.  I just worried thinking if it is going to be OK? Any thoughts? Please share with me.  Thanks!!

HCG level of 3 indicated a VERY early pregnancy.  Like possibly 5-7 days past implantation would show a number that low.  The HCG level should be doubling every 48 hours, so have your bloodwork checked.  Only follow up bloodwork with hopefully much higher levels can tell you if things are going ok.  Good luck and I wish you the best!

Well, that means that the embryo implanted and has started to produce HCG.  The progesterone level is excellent, and if you were not using any supplementation, it  would suggest that the pregnancy is strong.  Since you did an IVF cycle though,  I am guessing that you are taking some form of progesterone, so that it is harder to interpret.
Honestly, I would be a lot more optimistic if your HCG was higher.  Your next blood test will give you the answer!
